Bewildered by the darkness Annette lay silent.She had called out several times but to no avail.She had been blindfolded and lead into that pit.She couldn't tell where she was except feel a strong vibration of something moving to and fro.
Her hands were tied behind her back.
The blindfold had been removed.She saw a rat approach and she screamed loudly.
Myra who was lying in her bed heard a scream.She at once recognised Annette's voice.She rose and getting out in a coat over her night suit walked slowly towards the station.The scream came from near the entrance to the station.
Bob rushed towards the station knowing luck was going to bestow him with riches.His master had promised him one hundred thousand dollars.
Seeing him approach in the vehicle Myra hid behind the postbox.He got out of his tow truck and stood at the base of the stairs on the left and pulled up a lid .He stood for a moment thinking and closing the lid of the pit went back to his truck mumbling to himself.
He got into the truck and sped into the night.Myra got out of her hiding place and walked towards the spot where Bob had been standing .She pulled up the lid and looked down.
Annette cried ," Help me please help."
Myra went down lowering herself with care and quickly unbound her hands.Suddenly they heard the sound of the tow truck.It was returning.
Myra beckoned Annette to get out quickly and close the lid.
Annette was weak to her knees.She stumbled and walked towards the postbox.There she hid behind its tall structure.Myra lay in the pit conscious of the impending doom that awaited her.
