Annette  decided to talk to Harry. She was stunned to know the truth. He owed her an explanation. The breeze blew gently but she felt choked.
Harry whom she had trusted and had given herself completely to was nothing but  perfidious.

She went home only to know that they had a visitor.
" Hello Annette I thought I should see you since you were visiting your mum," said Jeffrey Thompson.
" Hello Jeff good to see you," she said
smiling.
" What brings you here?' he asked politely.
" Oh I missed home and came right over" she answered.
Young William was beginning to crawl and seeing his mother was making his way towards her.She picked him up and he laughed happily.
" Stay for lunch,' said Layla breaking the silence .
" I'd love to ," he replied.
They sat down to have lunch with pork roast ,scallions and beans  .They doused a little red wine.
" For how long are you going to be here? " he asked.
" Maybe another week,' said Annette tentatively.
He rose to leave  and taking Layla's hands in his thanked her.
He crossed the porch and was moving towards his car when he turned around.Annette was looking  beautiful. Her transition from teenager to motherhood had enhanced her looks. She was looking at him ,beads of perspiration on her forehead and flushed cheeks and arm raised to bid him farewell when on an impulse he said,
" Annette would youl like to go for dinner on Saturday?"
" Yes why not," she answered.
Jeffrey Thompson was not to be dissuaded  .He could see a wistfulness
in her.Annette was a young country girl who perhaps didn't know of  modern life in the metros. He  had an admonition about
her married life. She was married to
his cousin brother. It seemed as if all was not well.
