The court judged the situation gravely as Roxette was sentenced to eight years of imprisonment and Ptolemy and Bob to a life sentence.
Harry Thompson was acquitted of any charge and was found not guilty.
But as the sky got darker so did his life. That day Annette stood  on the threshold of their home
with her bag packed along with William and Layla Hobson. She looked at Harry silently as her eyes clouded with tears.
" We can't live together. Our journey ends here." she said.
" My darling all Roxette can do is to ruin lives.Don't believe all that you heard."
" Even if it's true?" asked Annette.
" You know that it's you I care for.Yes I should have told you about Roxette."
" Harry it's too late now.I don't have any faith left in you." She said.
" I promise never to hide any secret from you." Begged Harry.
" I'm sorry it's too late." She said turning towards the door where her mother awaited her.
They were driven to the station by Boreska who had learnt about Annette's fate.
As the train left the station Annette felt a part of her drift away.As she held William on her lap she wept inconsolably.
Mrs Layla Hobson was devastated. She had spoken to Mr Thompson on the phone and had given him an account of what had traspired in the last few days.
As the train stopped at its destination Jeffrey awaited Layla and Annette. His father had told him to pick them up from the station.
It was awkward for Annette as she refused to meet Jeffrey's gaze.
