Roxette was astonished to hear the account from Terry. He wasn't the Terry she knew.He had changed. His beard only enhanced his age.She began to have feelings of regret.
" Why didn't you call me?" she asked impatiently.
" I couldn't, this incident had left
me tarnished," he said.
"Terry what are you going to do now?"she asked.
" Don't you want me?"he asked.
" Your not the same man I had seen last," she said.
" So now you have doubts," he began
" And why not?"she replied.
" I'm sorry Roxy...",
" Why did you do this,do you think I'm stupid," she continued.
" It's been three years since," he said.
" You are lying , you got married to someone else," she said.
" No Roxy I swear....." he said.
She moved out of the room and was standing on the common balcony. She
Was bending backwards as he tried to get closer.
" I need to be alone ," she replied. As he bent towards her she cringed and fell over the balcony. He held out a hand.
" I've got this ," he said and tried to pull her up.As he bent chest down and tried to haul her his leg slipped and he fell over.Falling from a height of five feet he didn't survive.Roxette managed to swing back and quickly manoeuvred her step back onto the balcony. She went into her room and shut the door. She cried bitter tears.Fate had brought Terry back and now she had lost him again. This time for good.

She didn't want to claim him for her own.As his body lay motionless the breeze blew harder and a window creaked. An owl hooted on a nearby tree.
The owner of the inn closed his ledger books and taking a deep breath he stood on the balcony of his office. He yawned and rested both arms on the balcony and looked down.He could see the body of someone lying on the ground.
