" Masta I've been a long way," he said dropping the coin in the booth.
" Where the hell are you?" asked
Ptolemy.
" Belleville," he blurted.
" The young missus came here with baby," said Bob.
" Now keep an eye on the young lady
and keep me informed." replied Ptolemy.
" As you wish masta," said Bob.
He walked behind the bus that winded to Belleville. It was slow and kicked up dust as it rode the roads. The bus stopped and Annette got off carrying the child and a bag.
She took to the dirt road and walked a mile reaching Thompson Ranch.
She did not notice the shadow of a lingering monster at her heel.
He waited behind a tree as she walked to the small cottage behind the ranch.
Her mother Layla was happy to see her and taking the child in her arms went inside followed by Annette.
It was hot outside and Bob wiped the perspiration from his forehead then slumped down and went off to sleep.
He would have to remain in this position to make further observations.
It was afternoon when they had arrived and the sun was gradually setting to a fine evening. He woke up suddenly and found that he was very hungry. He couldn't t see a soul .
A young man came out of the ranch and went to the cottage.Soon two ladies and he were sitting on the porch having a meal.
The gentleman stood up and waved to the two as he took his leave. He walked a distance again further into the village. There he found an inn and sat down to eat.
" Whose ranch is on the aforeside?' he asked the waiter.
" Mr Thompson," came the reply.
