There was a chill in the air as Harry Thompson drove his car over a hill then reaching the crossroad turning left swerved as a car drove past.
He was on time for the meeting.It was a tie up between the iron and steel industry and he was buying shares in the company.He walked past the reception and made towards the hall.
There were other members seated already as he drew a chair and sat beside Jeff Thompson.
The meeting took about two hours and all of them proceeded towards the dining room.A buffet awaited them as they discussed further and
the day passed.Jeff asked him
" How is the baby doing?"
" He's well and now Annette has Mrs Hobson too who is staying with us,"replied Harry.
" Oh wonderful the baby is in good hands," remarked Jeff.
"I'm going home, why don't you join me", suggested Harry.
" Ok but I won't stay long," he said agreeably.
Jeffrey had known Annette since childhood.Her bright smile and kind ways were often what he compared with other girls.She had been a good companion to his sister and himself.
They went to school together and were out of touch ever since they left for graduation.
He had seen her on the wedding day and her beauty had left a lasting impression on him.
Harry took Jeff to his new born who was lying in his crib.Jeff lifted him up and holding him closely asked,
" What are you going to name him?"
Harry announced ",William Thompson ".
" So be it", said Jeff.
Annette entered the room and was baffled to find Jeff standing and holding her son.
" It's been a long time but look at you now the mother of William Thompson".
" I'm glad you found the time to visit us",she replied.
Boreska came in saying," Tea is served."
