Jan 14: Write a story set on a sleeper train
I had no idea what the hell that was so I went to research it.
I actually thought it was a living train that sleeps...
....

"You look so good in pink," Henry said to me with a cute smile on his face.

I covered my face with my hands to shield the blush that rose to my cheeks.

He tried to pry my hands off but I turned over on the bed and faced downwards so he couldn't get to my face.

He sighed and chuckled.

The weight on the bed shifted and I rolled over, thinking he was going to leave.

But he walked up to the wall on the other side of the room and stood there, examining something.

"When did you get this?" he asked and spun around to show me a necklace with a heart shaped pendant dangling.

I gasped and jumped off the bed to run towards him.
Then I snatched the necklace from his hand and held it protectively against my chest.

His face fell slightly and his forehead creased as he took a step back with his arm raised.

I sighed and looked away.
"This is Mike's. It was the last thing he gave to me before I ran away."

Henry nodded and put his hands down. "I understand. I'm sorry, I didn't know."

I put the necklace on and walked over to him to give him a big hug.

"It's okay," I mummured on his shoulders.

His tensed shoulders relaxed and he hugged me back.

We stood there for a while until we heard a loud bang close to us.

We jumped away from each other and heard a loud laugh.

"Well, well, well," Steve said swinging a bat in his hand as he strolled in.

Henry and I shifted further away from each other.

Another boy that I had never seen before walked in behind Steve and he leaned on the door with his arms folded.

"Master Henry," Steve began. "we all know that you're not supposed to be here."

"I was...I came to collect–" Henry tried to lie.

"I told you to stay away from Heather!" Steve screamed and struck the bat on the wall with such force that the wall shook.

We both jerked and took a step back.

"I..." Henry began, probably thinking of a lie but then he gave up and sighed.

"You know, I might not be allowed here. I get that. But just for your info, Heather doesn't like you, and never will. So stop trying."

I covered my mouth with my hands and my eyes widened at the sudden realisation of what Henry had just done.

Steven dropped the bat the held and thrust his hands forward.
A huge ball of electricity flew outwards and hit Henry on his chest, causing him to fly backwards.

He hit the wall and the train shook.

"No!"I screamed and ran over to him.

He grunted as he tried to get up, but he was hurt too much.

"Get away from that boy," Steve said and walked over to me. "You're not allowed to see him again and if I see you both together again, I will kill him."

I was tired of this. I was tired of Steve.
Couldn't he understand that I didn't want him?

He was always disturbing my life. Telling me who and who not to talk to, like he was my father or something. Now he threatened to kill Henry...no. I was sick of this.

My blood boiled.

With one simple swing of my hand, Steve was sent flying backwards.

He crashed into a stack of boxes that was at the corner of the room.

"What the..." Henry mummured as I stood up and turned around.

Steve tried to get up but I thrust my hands forward and he slammed back into the wall.

I raised my hand and he slid up the wall, choking.

No one else said a word as I applied more pressure to his neck.

I had never used my powers before so it was definitely shocking.

"Okay, that's enough," the strange boy at the door said.

"No."
I pressed harder.

Steven tried to speak but only let out a strangled noise.

"I said stop!"

"No!" I screamed, "he hurt Henry. He's been hurting people. He deserves this."

If I kept him up there for a few more minutes, he would die.

I knew that. But I didn't let him go.

Suddenly, I flew backwards and landed on my bed. I accidentally let Steve go and he fell to the ground and coughed, holding his throat.

The strange boy walked towards me.
"I told you to let him go!"

I crawled back as he advanced.

His hand burst into flames and he flung a fireball at me.

A ball of water neutralized the flaming ball and Henry suddenly appeared behind the strange boy.

"Don't hit her," he said and dragged the boy backwards.

A chunk of rock suddenly materialised atop Henry and was about to drop on his head.

He was totally oblivious as he tried to push the boy away and I screamed for him to look out.

Tzzz.

The boy jerked repeatedly and collapsed, smoke streaming out of his body.

The rock disappeared and Steven walked over to the knocked out body.

"Let's forget this ever happened okay?" he said and dragged the boy out of the room.

I stared at Henry and he voiced out my thoughts.

"He's the Banacht..."

I nodded, my chest still heaving.

"Where did he come from?"

"Obviously ran away like the rest of us."

I looked down at my hands and sighed.

"Wanna explain?" Henry asked and I smiled.

"It's a long story. I've been hiding my powers for years."

"Why?"

"I've been...I was scared."

"Of what?"

I looked up at him with tears in my eyes.
