Feb 26: just a random story
....School had ended and the hallway was buzzing with noise. Kids were laughing and yelling and goofing off.
I sat in an empty classroom, finishing up the latest chapter in the book I was writing. I loved the peace and quiet and I was considering staying here for a few more hours.
Soon the noise had died down and the entire school was eerily quiet. Wow, so even the janitor had left...
I checked the time. 5:00 pm.
Meh, wasn't that late. My family wouldn't notice I was gone, anyway. And don't worry, I had the spare keys. When I finished the chapter, I dropped my pen and took a huge breath of air, letting it all out heavily.
I got up and slid the notebook into my backpack before wandering around the room. I stopped at the teacher's table and examined it. It was unusually messy.
Ting!
A text from my sister
I need your help. Math problems. Where are you?
Of course that's when she knows I exist. I checked the time again and it was almost 6:00pm. I should head back.
I was about to turn around to leave when an interesting notebook caught my eye. The cover was just blank white but that was what made it even more intriguing.
I checked the time again.
A few minutes won't hurt.
I took the notebook out of the pile and placed it on an empty portion of the table. There was something really strange about the book because it was like the book wanted me to open it.
I should've just gone home immediately. But curse my curious mind, I went ahead and opened the book.
I was confused at first because as I flipped through the pages, I saw that they were all blank.
…until I got to the middle page. I squinted when I saw a blue line drawn right across the middle of the page with some strange words written on top of it. Trust me to read them out loud. As I stared at it, I swear I saw it glow.
I flinched when I heard a crackling sound from somewhere in front of me. When I looked in that direction my heart suddenly stopped.
Click.
The familiar sound of a bolt turning brought me out of my trance and I turned round slowly.
The door just locked itself.
More crackling sounds made me return my attention to the teachers table and what I saw made me scream in terror.
There was this snowman statue placed at the window which I realized now wasn't a statue anymore. Now it was moving!
I inched backwards slowly and tried not to cry as the small snowman statue jumped down from its spot on the window and started to walk towards me.
“What the–” I muttered as it raised a stick hand at me and wobbled in a terrifying manner.
I finally got to the door and pulled at the handle furiously but unfortunately, the door was locked outside.
I pressed myself to the door and watched in horror as the snowman finally reached me. It didn't waste time to jump to a surprising height and land on my face.
I struggled and tried to pry it off my face but its stick hands were so strong.
I couldn't understand what was going on but I couldn't even find time to think about it because the snow man now had hits hands around my neck. The tips of its branch hands dug into my neck and it hurt like hell. It looked directly at me with its tiny dark orbs and a snowman had never looked scarier in my life.
I let out a loud scream as it pierced my skin and the tips of the branch pierced into my flesh, causing blood to spurt and run down my chest.
The door behind me shook violently and I blinked. Suddenly everything went back to normal and the snowman statue had gone off my neck.
I reached up to feel it and I heaved a huge sigh when I realized I was fine.
But that made me really confused.Click.
The door opened up and I leaped into the air. My sister's annoying chuckle was the next thing I heard and I slumped to the ground in relief.
“Why are you at school by this time?” she asked as she walked over to pick me up. “Please, come on. I need to to finish my homework tonight!”
She pulled me up and pushed me out of the room but before I walked out, I looked back at the statue at the window and it was standing there, perfectly still like nothing happened.
