March 13: Write a story titled waterlily
….

"Savannah!"

A single teardrop rolled down my cheek. I clutched my pencil in my hand and tried to stop it from trembling.

“Savannah…” the voice sounded far away. I was zoning out of reality and I could barely feel the movement of my body shaking slightly. It felt like someone was trying to bring me out.

The tears in my eyes blurred my vision but I could still see the small notebook that lay on the grass and the pencil I held in my hand faintly.

Until I couldn't.

My head spun for a moment and I shut my eyes tight only to open them up and find myself in…the woods.

I tried to get up but I was dizzy. I felt around me and noticed that my notebook and pencil was still with me for some reason.

I scribbled my name on the book just to make sure everything was normal. I also noticed that the tears on my face had dried up and it didn't even feel like I was crying a few minutes ago.

Something caught my eye and I turned around to look. There was a pond.

Surrounded by many floating leaves was a single pink waterlily.

It found it very cute and entrancing. I managed to get up and decided to walk over to it. Strangely though, it felt like I was being drawn to the little flower.

The pond wasn't big and the flower wasn't so far away from the edge so I reached out, for some strange reason, to grab it.

As soon as the tip of my fingers touched a petal, I felt a little jolt and withdrew my hand instantly.

I shivered and proceeded to walk backwards when something strange began to happen.

I wasn't in control of myself anymore. Something was pushing me backwards and away from the pond. I swiveled around and started towards the portion of the forest where my book and pencil lay.

Confusion and fear numbed my brain and prevented it from reasoning everything. When I finally got to the destination, my hands reached out for my notebook and pencil.

I felt myself fall and sit cross-legged. My notebook was placed on my lap and the hand with the pencil was brought forward and placed on the surface of the book.

My hand started to move on the paper. I noticed that I was writing something and I read in fascination as I wrote.

Hi, my name is lily.
I'm one of the forest spirits that no one ever bothers to go to. I know it's because of the power I possess. People are scared of coming to me.

I finally found my tongue and spoke. “I didn't come to you.”

You are searching for something. And I can give that to you. That is why you were drawn to me. I can grant you the power of resurrection.

My eyes shone but my hand still wasn't stopping.

Your father. You miss him so much. You cry about him and you write about it almost everyday. We both know that's one thing.

I took a deep shaky breath.

You have touched me and now you have the power to bring one thing to life…but…

Of course.

To bring someone or something back to life, something of yours has to go.

“Take anything –”

Not so fast. It has to be something from you. Yourself. Not your belongings or the people you know. It can be your sight, your abilities, talents, a part of your body, anything.

This was starting to get creepy.

“Fine…I choose–”

My hand scribbled furiously on the page.

Nuh uhh, I get to choose.

“What? That's not fair!”

Bringing someone back to life is too unfair as well.

I nodded timidly.

But I'm not done…

She definitely sounded evil now.

You can also take me out of the pond, you know, if you choose. And you will have the power to bring back as many people and things as you choose.

My eyes drifted to the pond as I watched as the cute little flower bobbed at its spot.
The movement of my hand brought my eyes back to the notebook.

But you have to be very careful. Once I'm taken out of the water, I have to be handled with care. If any of my petals fall off, you'd die with me.

I froze in shock.

Think about it.

I didn't even get the chance to think because I felt my body rise after the notebook had slipped out of my grasp.

I was walking to the pond and soon I got there. My body was lowered to the ground and my hand stretched itself out to reach for the flower.

Stop!

I jerked and fell backwards. I instantly felt heavier and realized I was now in control of my body.

It is I, the tree spirit. I want to advise you to not listen to a word that wretched lily utters.

I looked over at it and I think it was trying to talk by the way it bobbed in the water but unfortunately the book wasn't with me and fortunately I was in control of myself.

The lily was actually a human who was cursed because of their evil doings and turned into a flower. She is destined to stay alone in that pond and finally wither away.
But she's been bringing humans into this trance like state and trying her hardest to deceive them into giving her a part of them so she can be free.

Don't do it. If she has part of you she has already possessed you and is one step closer to escaping from her curse. And even worse, if you take the whole flower, she possesses you entirely and that is it. The world would be in danger-

Don't listen to him! Think about your father all the things you want back!

How was she speaking to me?
I fell to my knees and covered my ears, trying my best to block the voices out.

What do you choose?
