Feb 23: Write a fantasy story in the second person perspective
….Okay, fine. I'll tell you the story, but promise not to make fun of me.
Ahh, back when I used to be a young man, full of energy and power, I did many stupid things. But there's one I'd never forget. One that changed my life forever.
I was running through space, that is outside our home on Saturn. The Dome. I was actually running away from this alien monster. Unfortunately, this one was a cyborg. You heard me right.
The aliens we encounter as we travel through space are very fascinating. We've found many species and we find more everyday. This one wasn't something new though, but it was rare and very dangerous.
We've seen many sizes and though this one was medium sized, I was still frightened. Because it moved so fast, you could hardly see it as it zoomed through space. The upside was that after a while, the monster would stop and stay at a place for a couple minutes to recharge itself or something. No one really knows what it was doing because they didn't take the risk of sticking around to find out.
That was how it was actually killed but I didn't know this until many years later. I was truly young and stupid then.
Why am I running from a cyborg alien monster, you may be wondering. Well, I'm very embarrassed to say it but it was because of a girl.
I wanted to show her around, impress her.
We left The Dome even when we knew it was unsafe because at that time, many evil things were running around.Unfortunately but not surprisingly, I put both of our lives in danger. The girl was at the lowest stage of the academy so she wasn't well trained to fight and I, as an intermediate had to protect her.
As I flew through the air, I started to create a ball of electricity. When, I was sure the ball was big and powerful enough to cause damage to the monster, I turned round swiftly to throw it.
But I was too slow.
My heart plunged as I stared at the huge, orange ball of goo flying in my direction.
It hit my right shoulder and became so terrified of losing my life that I sped off immediately with the little strength I had.
I flew so fast and so far that I was sure I got away from the monster but after a few minutes I stopped moving abruptly.
My eyes widened and I felt sick to me stomach when I realized the girl wasn't with me. I flew back as fast as I could desperately hoping the girl was alright.
I gasped when I saw her limp body floating in the middle of the void. Luckily, we were in a part of space where there wasn't much debris lying around but still.
I flew over and that's when I remembered the monster we were running from. I gazed around and my mouth hung open in shock.
Metallic parts and other disgusting materials floated around the dark abyss in millions of tiny pieces. I couldn't think about it though because I had to get the girl back to The Dome as soon as possible.
I suffered from terrible anxiety and guilt for five days and was super relieved when she finally woke up. But my happiness was short lived.
When she was fully recovered, she told everyone how she hit the monster with her newly found fire powers when it was in its ‘rest state'.
She was asked why she even left in the first place and that's when everyone's attention was shifted to me.
In the beginning I said you shouldn't laugh but now I think I meant you shouldn't feel sorry for me.
Why?
I was admonished and condemned by every single person on the planet. Honestly, I thought they were overreacting. But when they went to the point of taking all my powers away from me, I didn't even know what to say or do.
I was banished from The Dome and sent to another planet to live.
