March 19: write a short story set in a graveyard…meh I'd say about a graveyard
BuCkLe Up!
….

It always starts when you move into a new house.

To you, everything seems wrong but to your parents, siblings and friends, everythings new and exciting and…fun!

And you're just hallucinating.

“I wish!” Julian, the loudest of all of us exclaimed. “I mean, that'll be so cool! Living in a haunted house–”

The glob of ketchup on his face caused him to shut up abruptly.

“It's not a joke,” I muttered through clenched teeth.

He reached out for any food item he could grasp but my other friends dragged his lunch tray and theirs as well out of his reach before he could touch anything.

He glared at me before wiping the ketchup off his face.

“I won't start a food fight, I promise,” he mumbled and his tray was handed back to him.

“Still though,” Aven began. “even if he should've been more considerate about the way he shared his opinion, I agree with him. I think it's bull.”

I pursed my lips and took a deep breath.
“And that…is more considerate? What difference does it make?”

“The choice of words,” Alaska said and flashed me a smile, recieving a scowl in return.

“But seriously, how did you expect us to believe this? You've been in town for a month and you've been living in that house all this while. Suddenly, it's haunted.”

I shrugged exaggeratedly. “It started happening ‘suddenly’."

Julian chuckled. “Okay, tell us one reason you think it's haunted.”

I sighed and began.
“I was laying on the couch one day and I heard a knock on the door. But the problem was, when I went to open the door-which was a huge achievement because my original plan was to cover myself with a blanket and hide under it forever- the knocking continued.”

There was silence for once and I revled in it.

…Until Aven smart pants opened his stupid intelligent mouth.

“It could've been coming from another door within the house.”

My eyes bulged in frustration.
“And that would've been less scarier?! Home alone and a knock from INSIDE the house instead of outside would be so much better?”

“Well,” he ventured earning an eyeroll from me. “You mightn't have been home alone. Maybe someone was locked in a room or something.”

He shrugged.

“I'm an only child and my parents were out.”

They resumed their eating like nothing bothered them and I was starting to think about why I chose them as friends. Well they chose me but anyway.

“So, why don't we go to your house today? We hang out and see if you really are hallucinating,” Julian suggested.

“Yeah! And since today's Halloween, we could maybe watch a scary movie and get a taste of this sacred Holiday,” Alaska chimed in with her smile that was getting a little to bright for me these days.

I agreed anyways. And for once I was glad I moved to a town that didn't celebrate Halloween.

…What has my life turned into?

A few minutes before they showed up to my house, I was in my room, flipping through pages of a romantic comedy novel. I was at a part where the drama was intense.
