Write a story set on a mountain top
....

"Please father," I pleaded silently as William's fingers slid down from the portion of rock he clung to.

He was too far away from me so unfortunately I couldn't help him back up.

He had been hanging there for a few minutes and his arms where shaking.

He couldn't hold on forever.

My father was being too cruel with this punishment.
I knew I messed up.

But it wasn't even that much of a deal.
He was being too much. As usual.

And I was really sorry. I could swear on my life that I wouldn't do it again.

He had caused my beautiful blonde hair to fall off, caused me to lose my way, made my Pegasus to go blind and drop us off on a mountain. That wasn't enough for him.

He produced a strong wind that pushed Will off the mountain and was supposed to make him fall to his death.

Luckily, he hung to a rock and had been hanging there for a few minutes.
But I felt father was just torturing him, prolonging his death.

"Anthony!" Will screamed as he finally let go and plunged to his death.

I tried to grab his hand even when I knew it wasn't possible.

"Will!" I wept as he fell through the air, his scream getting fainter and his body getting tinier with each second that went by.

Frustrated tears dropped from my eyes and down the edge of the mountain and I gritted my teeth in anger.

Why is my own father doing this to me?

I sat down hard on the rocky surface and stared off into space.

My friend just fell off a mountain, I was stuck on the mountain with no way to go back down, no food or water, no coat or blanket to cover myself as it was freezing.

I was probably going to die here as well. My own death was just being prolonged.

I sat there gloomily for hours and watched until it became dark.

Soon I was exhausted and my back ached so I lay down and stared at the sky above me.

To my dismay, there were no stars. The sky was blank and it reflected my mood.

Thanks a lot father.
He was probably looking down at me, laughing.

As the night got darker, my eyes began to get heavier and despite the anger simmering in my heart, I was feeling really sleepy.

Tears had dried up on my face and my heart beat was getting more steady.

I was half asleep and on the verge of passing out completely when I heard a sound not far away form where I lay.

My eyes shot open and I stiffened immediately.

Many things ran through my mind at that moment.

Did someone come to kill me? Save me? Was that a ghost who came to haunt me?

Don't judge me, my father was really creative.

I didn't try to move and I was getting more terrified as the person walked closer to me.

It was silent for a while and then suddenly I heard a sound.

"Anthony."

My heart stopped.

"William?" I whispered in disbelief.

"Yes, it's me."

I sat up quickly and tried to see his face clearly in the darkness.

I groped and found it.
I felt round his face frantically to make sure he was there and it was true.

"Stop." He pulled my hands away from his face.

"It's me yeah, I'm alive."

I sat up and crossed my legs.
"But how?...you fell and you're supposed to..." I made a dead emoji face and Will laughed.

"I..." He paused, "I was flying..."

I leaned in, "flying? But you can't fly."

"I know. But get this, it didn't feel like it was coming from me. It felt like...I was being carried."

A weird feeling coursed through my body and I resisted the urge to start to cry.

Father.

I sighed.
"Well I'm glad you're safe but we still have problems, like...how to get down from here. And we don't have food...or anything."

"Yeah, true. But we're still alive that's good. And even if we die, we die together."

I'm glad he didn't see my facial expression.

"Let's lay down and rest. We don't know what we might encounter tomorrow."

We lay side by side, our backs to each other, shivering violently.

I gazed at the sky and silently thanked my father, hoping that him keeping William alive was a sign that he had forgiven me. And I tested my luck and even prayed that we would find away to get down and be safe.

I had learnt my lesson.
