Pairing: Killer Sans x Female Reader
Prompt: Due to your invaluability to the Star Sanses, the Bad Sanses kidnap you and assign Killer to watch over you until the Stars eventually come for you. Who knew you could have such an impact on someone from the other side of the cell door?
Type: trauma w/therapy, flirty goodness, romantic
Length: 6.3k words
Background: If you don't know anything about Killer's backstory, I'm gonna learn you some things today. | You're an ally to the Star Sanses, ergo you're a weak spot. You've been around Sanses all your life so you know them inside and out due to how similar they all are at their core.
Notes: I have an addiction to giving these skeletons therapy. I mean, they need it (I swear the pre-req for making an AU is traumatizing Sans), and I have a hard on for making them happy and fulfilled because they deserve the world. | Requested by the lovely woof22h

Killer swore there was more resistance to the air his knife was cutting through as he twirled it in his fingers - or maybe that was just the tension of their latest failure thickening the atmosphere around them until it felt hard to breathe. The negativity was practically palpable, and every single one of the minions was waiting for Nightmare to snap as he led the way back to his castle. His tentacles were writhing on his back in anger but his expression was downright calm, and that was perhaps the scariest thing about him. Killer's fidgeting with his knife got quicker, and he began tossing it from hand to hand like he was performing party tricks. Dust shot him a glare out of the corner of his socket but Killer just grinned back, trying to ignore the tension in his own bones as they all finally got back to the castle and Nightmare turned to them.

The silence that followed was deafening and nobody moved to break it for a long time. Dust was always quiet and he wasn't feeling out of character now, and Horror kept his head down to avoid looking at the Boss. Nightmare almost seemed to grow larger at all the negativity in the room, like it made him more powerful the more it seeped out of his 3 minions, and his turquoise eyelight glowed brighter as it scanned their evasive expressions for a moment. Suddenly a tentacle snapped out, hitting the knife out of Killer's hand and sending it careening into the wall behind them, planting deep into the plaster and sticking as Killer froze.

"I am tiring of your failures," Nightmare said slowly, his voice frighteningly calm. He'd sent them on the mission with the intent of it being an easy in-and-out, be home by supper deal, but when it went horribly wrong - i.e. the Star Sanses showed up - he had to come get them and pull them out before it got nasty. He was hoping for a relaxing afternoon and good news, which is far from what he got.

When none of his minions moved to explain themselves, his piercing gaze swung up to Horror. "What happened?"

"Somebody told them we were there before we could do what you asked," Horror replied, his hands going in his pockets to pick at the lining.

Nightmare scowled, a tentacle cracking like a whip behind him. "Her."

"We know she matters to the Stars," Dust piped up, keeping his face shrouded in shadow. "Let us take her out."

"She's cute though," Killer argued, making all 3 of them glare at him. He held up his hands before any of them could snap at him, the air crackling like electricity with barely contained fury cluing him into the line he was toeing, and his grin widened mischievously. "Why don't we use her instead?" When Nightmare didn't take his head off with a swipe of his tentacle, Killer went on. "If we kill her, yeah that'll suck for a bit and we can totally use that, but if she's alive, we can use her as bait." He pointed at Dust. "She matters to the Stars, right? So we know they'll come after her if we hold her hostage, so let's use that. They can't be in two places at once."
