It was a lovely evening in the anti-avoid - although it was outside of time and space so it really couldn't be any particular time of day, and it was only lovely because nothing had happened. It was relaxing to be left alone - completely alone - with nobody around Error so he could enjoy crocheting and watching Undernovela in the comfort of his home. Not a single thing could ruin this perfect evening, nothing at all. Error reached for a bar of chocolate, but when his hand fumbled in the air next to his bean bag, he quickly turned. His chocolate was gone.
Now that it was officially the worst evening of his entire life - nothing else even came close - it came as no surprise that Ink showed up. He appeared out of a puddle in the ground and popped in all smiles as Error was wailing in despair, and he froze. "Did I come at a bad time?" he asked as Error glared daggers at him.
"Did you take my chocolate, squid?" he snapped, jumping to his feet with strings already wrapped around his fingers. Ink's sockets widened and he quickly held up his hands, but there was something in his hands, making Error freeze. Ink was holding a cat. How did Ink find a cat, and how did it manage to remain unharmed? It had (h/c) fur and big (e/c) eyes that were pinned to Error, and it let out a soft 'mew'.
"What is that?" Error cried, the confusion only fueling his anger.
"I brought you a little friend!" Ink said happily, waving the cat around in the air. He was holding it under the front paws, making the rest of its body wiggle around in the air as he held it since cats are liquid, but it stayed calm despite what looked to be an uncomfortable position. "You better not have any more chocolate lying around." Ink set the cat down in the anti-void and put his hands on his hips. "Cats can't have chocolate, so your new friend will die." He paused. "Or was that dogs? I always forget."
"It's both," Error answered, before shaking his head and glaring at Ink. "What are you doing here?!"
"As your best and only friend, I took it upon myself to get you a little friend so you're not so lonely, and they'll help you get over your irrational fear!" Ink put a hand on his sternum self-importantly and smiled broadly like he was doing Error a service.
"We aren't friends!" Error snapped, the strings tightening around his digits. "I try to kill you often."
"Just like besties should," Ink said brightly.
"You're an idiot," Error groaned, torn between giving up and going back to his show or actually fighting with Ink. His perfect day was ruined already, so it wasn't like it could get much worse. His eyelights flickered down to the cat as it walked over to him, trying to rub against his pants. He stepped away from it quickly and it meowed at him as if asking why he moved. "What's its name?"
Ink held up a finger before pausing, then putting his hand on his chin. "Oh, um, I don't remember." He quickly checked his scarf for the name of the cat as Error let out a glitchy sigh.
"I can't believe I'm letting you drop a whole animal on me without killing you." While Ink had a point about his loneliness and need to get over his fear, he was still firmly in denial about it - and he didn't need help from Ink of all people to fix his problems. The cat stepped closer and again he stepped away, and it looked up at him with an annoyed meow. It sat down on its haunches as its tail lazily swept across the floor, and he crossed his arms stubbornly at it. "I'll name you Error Jr," he mumbled. He swore the cat's eyes widened as Ink gasped.
