Pairing: Error Sans x Doll! Reader
Prompt: You die and get reincarnated into the Undertale universe, but with your luck, your vessel is one of Error's dolls.
Type: cutesy, soft, intermixed joking & serious moments, realistic ('canon' Error)
Length: 6.6k words
Background: You aren't exactly sure if you were actually reincarnated - I left that up to interpretation/your preference :D
Notes: This was heavily inspired by an amazing story called An Error's Doll by EroseWisp. Go check out the actual book cuz it's worth your time (and that's coming from the girl that has no time to read lmao), especially since she was kind enough to let me steal her idea. | The ending is ambiguous on what kinda relationship you have with Error (whether it's platonic or romantic), so it's up to you <3

Being reincarnated was not on your bucket list. Going through this whole living thing again? You couldn't think of anything worse. Maybe that was why when you opened your eyes for the first time after your tragic untimely death, you let out a loud groan. You ran your hands down your face, lost in despair for a moment as you considered your situation - going through all 5 stages of grief in record time. By the time you got to acceptance and you sat up to prepare to do this again, you realized something. If you were starting life over as a human, why weren't you a baby with no grasp at all of your situation? Why did you have all of your memories and all your brain development? And where were you?

You stood up, looking around to see you were in an all white void, like some sort of anti-void. Was this the afterlife? It was rather boring if it was. You looked for any sort of land marker before realizing you were leaned up against a giant blue bean bag. Right as you thought it was made for a giant, something shifted on the bean bag and you gaped up at a giant skeleton with black bones and error bars appearing around his figure. You'd read a number of fics about the main character being reincarnated into the Undertale universe as a skeleton, or perhaps as themselves but surrounded by their favorite characters, and you made that connection as you started up into the wide sockets of Error Sans himself.

He froze with his hand half-way towards you as you stared up at him with confusion. Sure Error wasn't as short as Ink, but you were fairly certain he wasn't a bara either, so why on earth was he so big?? He stood silent for a moment longer before shaking his head. "Imagining things," you heard him mumble right before he grabbed you. You squeaked in surprise and he froze again.

"Put me down," you said, tapping at his fingers with your stubby arms. Wait, stubby? You would've loved a mirror in that moment because your arms were not normal human arms but some sort of stuffed doll-like arms with no fingers or bendable action.

Amidst your shock, Error squeezed you tighter in his hand and glared at you. "Is this one of Ink's tricks?"

"Wait, I don't know what's going on either!" you cried, holding out your stubby arms towards him as if holding up your hands in a 'slow down' motion. "You're real??"

"You're alive?" he shot back with equal surprise before realization seemed to dawn on him and he rolled his eyelights at himself. "Losing it," he mumbled to himself through grit teeth. He turned you over in his hands as you were forced to quickly adjust to being manhandled. "How are you talking? I haven't finished making you yet." He held you close to his face as the room spun around you, and you shook away the spinning sensation as you rested your arms on his fingers.

"What am I exactly?"

"You're one of my puppets, abomination." He put his other hand on his jaw as he looked you over, trying to make sense of this situation as you tried to quickly work through everything you were hearing. First, Undertale was real, and thus the multiverse that came from the game and the popular Undertale character Sans was real too. Second, you died, and now you're here as one of Error's dolls. Third, Error was taking this a lot better than expected. Maybe how everyone interpreted his character was wrong?
