Pairing: Horrortale Sans x Female Reader
Prompt: Horror wakes (Y/n) up in the middle of the night for no apparent reason, but with some good ol' fashioned love and care - and a special drink - she might just make him feel comfortable enough to open up.
Type: smut
Length: 4k words
Background: You're the Bad Sanses' nurse and you've been with them long enough to build rapport with all of them. It's your job to look after them - even if it's the middle of the night.
Notes: This Y/n could be the same Y/n as the Nightmare one (titled 'desk.') and Dust's (titled 'wall.') and Killer's (titled 'bed.') - ergo a continuation of Nurse Y/n's adventures. (Reading Nightmare's/Dust's/Killer's isn't necessary to understand this one, dw.) No there's not a common theme among the titles of these smut-shots that could technically be considered part of a series, why would you think that? :) | Horror draws blood so heads up. He doesn't eat humans despite the fanon perception that he does, but I do think he'd be into tasting his partner (you'll see what I mean if you keep reading <3)~-~-~-~
(Y/n) woke up with the hair on her arms standing on end, her skin prickling with the feeling of being watched. Her eyes snapped open in a panic and she sat up quickly, immediately spotting the murky blood red glow above her, and her heart jumped into her throat as she yelped. Her knuckles turned white with the death grip on her blankets as she pushed herself back into the headboard of her bed, scarcely breathing as she stared up at the familiar giant looming over her.
The lamp beside her bed clicked on, casting shadows on Horror as he smiled eerily down at her. "Heya doc." His gravelly voice was especially deep, signaling he probably just woke up, and she had to take a second to force her lungs to breathe before she could possibly reply.
"H-Hi Horror," she replied, her smile trembling on her lips. Her heartbeat pounded in her ears as she pried her fingers from the blankets, unable to look away from the giant skeleton as he stayed just close enough to her that the hair on the back of her neck stayed on end. "Did you need something?"
"Feeling chilled to the bone," Horror said with a crooked twinge to his smile. His lone eyelight flickered away from her as he spoke though and she could just make out his hands fiddling in his hoodie pockets. The Bad Sanses were evil and liked tormenting her because they thought it was funny, like pulling pranks that humiliated her in front of their Boss, but Horror especially wasn't the type to startle her awake in the middle of the night for no real reason.
"What's wrong?" (Y/n)'s voice softened, the goosebumps lining her arms disappearing as she hesitantly reached out to touch him.
He pulled away from her, smile turning hostile. "Nothing. Nothing bothers a skeleton, we don't have a heart to care in the first place." She retracted her hand quickly but her gaze remained on him, studying his behavior. Something she picked up on rather quickly: he liked to make puns, but he tended to make them a lot more often when he was trying to avoid talking about something. His actions and words contradicted each other - he woke her up in the middle of the night but 'nothing was wrong' - so he was deeply bothered by something but pretending not to be. But if she pried too much she was liable to get hurt - nothing was off the table when it came to the skeletons - so instead she slid from the bed and headed to the corner of her room.
Horror watched (Y/n) as she grabbed something from her mini fridge before gesturing for him to follow her. They walked through the halls of Nightmare's castle towards the kitchen, where upon arriving, she set the pink jug in her hands down and retrieved a glass. Cupboards lined the kitchen wall in an L shape with only the microwave breaking the pattern, and in the middle of the kitchen was an island counter with a marble countertop and barstools along one side. Horror's eyelight flickered over her outfit in the light of the kitchen - dark red panties and a matching red sweater that hung off one of her shoulders - but she didn't seem to realize how underdressed she was as she poured liquid from the jug into the glass then put the glass in the microwave to heat it up.
