Pairing: Error Sans x Reader
Prompt: Ink reasons that if Error has a therapy human to mellow him out, the multiverse will benefit and maybe he won't have to save crumbling AUs so often. So he enacts a plan to get the glitchy skeleton a friend, but since his memory's ass, he grabs the wrong person.
Type: slow friendship, Error and Ink shenanigans, commentary and jokes about fanfics/fandoms & the people in them
Length: 8.3k words
Background: I have a headcanon that Error is a really good strategist because how else would he be able to not only go to an AU and destroy it while the entire AU tries to stop him - which would include important characters/bosses like Frisk, Flowey, Sans, Undyne, Asgore, etc - as well as the Stars or even just Ink if we include fanon, but do it all alone? I swear that mf has to be some kinda strategic genius as well as stupidly good at what he does. So, following that train of thought, I also think he'd be rather obsessed with his work to the point of not taking a break because the multiverse won't cleanse itself. Keep in mind he canonically, genuinely believes what he's doing is the right thing, so to take a break is to put aside his singular goal in life and he's got too much anger in his short body to not want to be lashing out at all times.
Notes: I might be using pieces of this one shot to construct my full-length story for Error, so you may see some similarities whenever that story finally drops. (I promise I'm working on it but I'm struggling bro 😭)
I would like to make it very clear that I don't hate the Error x Ink ship (ErrInk? ErrorInk? Whatever it's called). I'm extremely neutral to pretty much all ships so whether you ship Error x Ink or you hate the ship makes no difference to me and shouldn't impact your enjoyment of this one-shot because it's not treated as a canon part of the story.

The squeal from the next room caught your attention, and already knowing what would come next, you counted down from 5 to the predictable outcome of your roommate flying into the room with her phone clutched in her hand. "Guess what just happened?" CJ squealed, bouncing on her toes as you watched her with barely a flicker of emotion on your face.

"Error and Ink got together against all odds and kissed?" you guessed, turning in your spinny chair so you could face her. You weren't sure how many times you'd had this exact same conversation but you'd suffer through it another time just to show interest in what she was talking about – goodness knows nobody else did.

"Even better!" She stepped closer to you, which you weren't exactly thrilled about, but again you powered through by breathing through your mouth as she bent down to show you her screen while scrolling through the fanfic she was reading. "They were arguing again about whether or not they should save or destroy the AUs – it's so cute when they do that." She let out another excited squeal as you nodded at her. "And look, look, right here." She pointed to a spot on the screen, and your eyes flickered through the same block of text you swore you saw fifty other times. How did she not get bored reading the exact same fics over and over again?

"They started making out instead?" You rose your eyes to CJ's, and she was practically salivating as she nodded enthusiastically.

"This author is so good at writing it too." Her face was flushed at the very thought, and she scrolled down through the chapter as she bit her lip. "And then Ink decided to take it further-"

"Oh, hey CJ?" you cut her off, not wanting to hear about how Error and Ink got it on for the hundredth time. They were fictional characters that she fantasized about to the point you were worried she didn't live in the real world, that her escape from reality was all encompassing so it wasn't an occasional escape anymore. She got angry whenever anybody else didn't ship the same two characters as her – she frequently got into online discourse over it, which would lead to her ranting about it later while literally fuming – and you genuinely couldn't remember the last time she talked about something other than Error x Ink. But that was probably just you getting fed up talking about how two fictional characters fucked so often. Probably.
