Pairing: Nightmare Sans x Female Reader
Prompt: After a really bad run in with the Star Sanses, (Y/n) goes to check on Nightmare. She can very clearly tell he's stressed, so she offers her help - both from under the desk and bent over it.
Type: smut
Length: 5.1k words
Background: You're the Bad Sanses' nurse and you've been with them long enough to build a small rapport with the Boss, though you highly doubt he sees you as anything more than a mildly helpful but still inconsequential human.
Notes: I got the idea from another spicy one-shot I wrote for a different character (not in this book), so you'll see similarities if you've read that other one. Welcome to the first original smut-shot written for this book! 🫶~-~-~-~
(Y/n) reached toward the door to Nightmare's office but paused, checking over her outfit to make sure she looked presentable and she had all of her gear, then reached for the handle again. Her chances were good that Nightmare would be in a bad mood since 9 times out of 10 he was angry about something, but her chances were even higher today in particular because they had a run in with the Star Sanses where they were promptly wiped across the floor. She knew it bothered Nightmare greatly - as if his yelling at the others didn't outright prove her theory - but she was hoping as the team's nurse she held a small sliver of a chance of improving his mood before he forced her out of his office. If nothing else, she was hoping to give him a quick check-up to ensure he came out of the battle unscathed. It wasn't much, but she'd been told her presence had a way of calming the Bad Sanses, and she was almost positive her presence had the same effect on him.
So breathing in and out slowly, (Y/n) grabbed the door handle and pushed it open, stepping into Nightmare's office. Nightmare's sole attention was glued to paperwork on his desk, his right hand scribbling something down on a piece of paper while the pen in his hand seemed on the verge of snapping in two. His tentacles were writhing behind him restlessly, snapping in the air like whips every couple seconds as his turquoise eyelight glowed brightly. He was sat in his office chair grumbling unintelligibly under his breath, the air thick with negativity around him. To (Y/n)'s trained eyes, he looked visibly stressed, the worry lines on his face more pronounced than ever—which was saying something considering his face was comprised of hard bone and goop.
"What do you want?" he asked curtly, not looking up as his pen never stopped gliding across the paper. She never truly knew what the point was of the paperwork he worked on in his office, and sometimes she wondered if he had it either to keep himself busy or to use it as an excuse to send Killer away when the boy was driving him insane.
(Y/n) shut the door behind her and stepped closer, forcing a smile despite him not looking at her. "Hey Boss." At her voice, his head snapped up and the pen stilled. His blue eyelight ran over her cute outfit consisting of a short skirt with pockets for her medical supplies, a black blouse, and her (h/l) hair up in a simple hairdo to keep it out of the way.
"What do you want, (Y/n)?" His tone was still cold but now it had almost a tired edge to it. Since she wasn't one of his boys, he treated her differently—or maybe that was because she took her job under him seriously and she stayed respectful of his authority no matter the situation—which in this case meant he didn't scream at her to leave his office immediately. He leaned back in his chair, crossing one leg over the other, and since he was stopping what he was doing to hear her out, she did her best not to waste his time.
"I wanted to report in." (Y/n) stepped closer, hands smoothing down her skirt over her medical supplies. "I checked in on your boys and all of them are alright—mostly."
"Good." A tentacle waved in the air as if brushing off her report of his minions. "I hope this means Killer will learn not to mouth off in the middle of a battle next time." Killer was the only one to sustain any notable injuries, but seeing as he was still able to flirt with her as she lifted his shirt to check his ribs, she figured he'd heal right up.
