Chapter 1

Ray

It was the night of the annual Alphas Ball. The ball was held every year so Alphas could find their mates and spend time together. You could picture a bunch of Male Alphas acting all macho and the women walking around with their noses in the air. I dont really care right now because I am only 17. My birthday was two days ago. The whole thing didnt involve me. I have to wait another year to find my mate. My parents have my mate picked out for me which is fine we have been friends all my life. We still have to wait until I am 18 to get married, just in case the moon goddess has a chosen mate for me. Werewolves cant sense their mates until they are of age.

Ray that gown is beautiful, save a dance for me.

Fine Alpha Mike. As the daughter of the king and queen I was expected to attend all these different functions and be polite. My name is Princess Rayden, but everyone calls me Ray. I dont like crowds, thats why I am late.

Princess Ray, you have to hurry your mother and father are looking for you. I just nodded at the head maid and walked through the massive doors where the music was playing, and people were dancing. This very angry but handsome man walked towards me, he had a scowl on his face. As he walked toward me, he stopped and stared at me, his face was menacing. After standing there for a few minutes he stamped out the door. I dont know what his problem was.

Hey Ray, you are late, and your mother is having a fit. She sent me looking for you.

Jenna, who is that? I asked as I stared at that guy going out the door.

He is Alpha Adrian. Then she whispered close to my ear, They say hes cruel, and blood thirsty. You need to stay away from him.

He looked at me like he wanted to tear me apart and I dont even know the guy.

Why do you think he is mad at you?

He just stamped past me like I insulted him. He stared at me with this sour look then just left. He is scary I will give him that.

Lets not worry about him and enjoy the party.

The following morning, as usual, just as the sun was coming up, I had my MP3 on with my music playing. I took off running as I do every day. I run the same path rain or shine for five miles out and five miles back. At the end of the five miles, I run in place and take my pulse to make sure my breathing is good and turn to head back. This morning there is a black car here.

When I spun around to return, that car pulls up close to me, and two large hulky men grab me. Before I even had a chance to fight, they covered my mouth with a cloth. Everything started to get black spots then it was dark.

I dont know how long it was I open my eyes. The room is cold, gloomy, and basically empty. Mariah, what happened to us? I had a very large headache, and we were in trouble.

I dont know. Im just getting up myself.

Im scared I dont know where we are or who took us. I looked all around the room not seeing any way out. There were no windows and two doors, both locked, and I didnt know what to do.

Calm down we will figure this out.

The walls were white, plain, you could see the brick that the walls were made of. Looking around I could see is a table with two chairs, but nothing else in the room. It feels cold and empty in here. Tears start to fall. There is no way out.

Crying is not going to help you; check again we can find a way out. I didnt seem to hear Miriah, all I felt was panic.

Calm down. Check again. You didnt use your eyes, your fear was looking not you. This time I can hear her say it. My eyes scan the walls to a very small window.

Do you think we can fit, Mariah?

Well, we need to at least try. After pushing on the glass, the window starts to move. I stood on a chair and wiggled and squeezed my way out. I guess your butt wasnt as big as we thought.

My butt wasnt what I was worried about fitting. I cant believe we made it through that window. Which way should I go? I whispered to Mariah, I dont know where I am.

Mariah makes a funny face, Why are you whispering? They cant hear you. Sneak off to the woods we can hide in the trees.

I dont see anyone around. Ill stay low and take off to the trees. The problem is they might smell me and then we are in worse trouble.

Use your inner powers to mask your scent. Your dad taught that to you when you were little.

Im so nervous I forgot I could do that; I dont know where my brain is. Thanks, Mariah. Once in the woods I shift into my wolf, Miriah, which I dont like to do. Shifting was not supposed to happen until I was eighteen. My wolf came early, she was a rare white wolf. Much larger than most she-wolves, actually she was the was bigger in size then most Alpha males.

Ray, we have to watch carefully, it is easy for them to see my white fur, I stick out in the woods.

I love your white fur and the touch of black on the tips of your ears and around your lips.

I am happy you like the way I look, but we need speed and to get out of here.

I wish we were eighteen then you would have our powers.

That makes two of us. When I got her, she told me about the gifts I was going to get.

Before I shifted, I stripped and tied my clothes in a bundle so I could bring them with me. We started out slow to make sure no one saw us, all of a sudden there was a loud aggressive howl in the distance.

They found out we are gone. Run faster, Mariah! Run! Run! I urged her on. We must be close to their border. I see patrol men. We stopped and hid quietly till they passed.

They are gone Mariah start running. We ran for what seemed like hours until it was getting dark. Do you think we are safe?

I dont hear anyone or sense them. With my speed we should have lost them.

Okay I will shift back and get dressed. I was so tired from running I needed a break. It would be safer for me to hide in the trees.

I think you are right; they would have less chance of seeing you.
