Finding How It Happened

Chris pov

I have to stay calm I cant lose it, being anxious and uneasy is not going to get her back. I need her back, I knew he was up to something. Goddess why did I ever trust him. Hell, I know how mad I was when they did this shit to me. Even growing up he was a hot head, dad used to say he was like a snake ready to strike.

Walter, I have to make a phone call go help Max for me.

Ive got to contact my father; he has to know what his son has done. Micah is not stupid enough to go to dads pack, but we have to check his pack lands just in case. Taking out my phone I call my dad. After three rings he picks up.

Hello, Alpha Cal here.

Hi dad.

Chris, good to hear from you. A short silence comes across the phone. Dad realizes something is off about the call. What is wrong, son?

Micah. He is in a lot of trouble. He set up an attack on the castle and kidnapped Ray.

Are you sure it was him?

There is too much evidence, and it is all pointing at him. I know you dont want to hear this, but he did it. I need you to come to the castle. I am on the verge of losing it.

What are the king and queen doing?

They were away when it happened. Micah was smart, he waited until they werent here and I was out helping on a tracking mission. The king said they will be back tonight.

Do you have any leads?

I will explain everything when you get here. Running my hand through my hair with frustration, as I go to hang up the phone but then remembered what I needed him to do. Oh dad, before you come, send out a search party to see if he is there. I dont expect to find him there though, the man who planned this is smarter than that.

I will check if he is here. Chris, we will find her, and you know he wont hurt her. He loves her just like you do.

Dont count on that. He might lose it and then she will get hurt.

Ray is smart she wont piss him off. He has no reason to lose it.

Dad, Ray is pregnant. We wanted to wait until the king and queen got back and tell everyone. If he finds out he is going to lose it and there is no one there to stop him.

I would like to say congratulations, but under the circumstances this isnt the time.

He might kill her or them if we dont find her, before he finds out. My voice is breaking. I cant talk right now. See you when you get here. I hung up my phone, tears ran down his face. This isnt helping but I will not make it without her. Time to get to work, now for the witnesses.

Max are all the men in the back yard?

Any of them that werent hurt from the fight, I even got the trackers, I thought you would need them.

You thought right. Guards, as most of you all know, we were attacked this afternoon. The rogues were a distraction, allowing Micah to kidnap the princess. Which he has successfully accomplished. Where are my trackers?

Good I want you to spread out on the southern and western border. If I am right, they would leave on the opposite border of where the attack took place. Check every inch and find me a clue. When you get one mind link me.

We put them down there already. Do you want me to question them, or do you want to do it yourself?

Let me get things organized here and I will go with you. I want the guards inside the castle to step up here and talk to me. Ten men stepped forward. Is this all that is left?

This is all that is left out of the thirty-five guards. Max replies.

We lost that many men. Chris sounds angrier than he was just minutes ago. Men, I need to know what Micah has been doing sense he was put in charge of security. I waited for what seemed like an eternity for someone to speak then I shouted, Someone start talking!

Your majesty, we have had the same guards working here for years. In the last month Micah had hired twelve or maybe a little more, new guards. They did not socialize with the rest of the guards, they stayed together and kept to themselves.

Hes right. Another man interjects. They were always whispering to each other and worked at the same time. Alpha Micah had them assigned to guard the Princess and the Office area.

When the noise started outside the new guards started attacking us. We heard the buzzer go off and ran to protect the members in the castled and they started killing us like we were nothing. I never saw men fight better, they were precise and technical in their moves.

Walter adds, Micah showed us the safe room. He also told us that there was going to be a practice drill. He had this all planned out.

Where was Ray when all this was going on?

She was in the office. I went to go get her as soon as the buzzer went off.

If you went for her how did Micah get her?

When I reached her Micah was there telling her that it was a real attack. We started back to the safe room with Micah alongside us. He was acting like he wanted to protect her. Walter stops for a deep breath. He was part of the royal family I never expected him to do this.

He took you and Ray to the safe room what happened there she should have been safe there with the six of you.

Micah came with us to the safe room, acting like he was protecting the princess. To get in the room you had to punch in a code. He gestured for me to open it and to go in first, as soon as I stepped in the room, he hit me with something. I dont know what happened next, all I saw was black.

Who can tell me what happened next?

I cant tell you. Deon steps forward. I saw him grab the princess. I tried to get to him, but I couldnt get past Walter. He fell in the door opening blocking it. Princess Ray tried to run but someone else came up behind her and covered her face with a cloth. He pushed Walter the rest of the way in the room and slammed the door shut. We couldnt open the door from the inside, we were stuck. We didnt know he set it up to be locked from just the outside.

One of the castle guards stepped up next. Alpha Micah had the princess over his shoulder heading out the back door going south. Me and four or five of the guards went after him but was attacked by his men. They ran from us after the princess was out of sight.

Any of those guards left?

We killed one and caught one. Patrick said, The one we caught is in the dungeons, the other guards have beat the shit out of him, but he is still kicking.
