Explanation

The sun is not yet bright in the sky when they wake up again, the routine of the crying pups starts the day, making bottles feed them. Ray leaves Alice, Doris, and Lisa in charge of her four little beauties.

I have to go to the pack house and please make sure they are dressed nicely for my parents first visit. Deon, would you gather the guards for me then wait in the living room?

Ill get them for you. Deon is whistling as he leaves.

I have a large request for all of you. My father and mother will want to see these pups today. My father is a kind man, but he is a king, an Alpha, he may see my pups and get angry and lose control. I need you to stand by them and guard them in case he cant deal with how they got here.

Those pups will always be safe as long as I'm alive. I speak for all of us when I say that. We have come to love the pups like we love you. We will never let anything happen to them.

I need to tell you all it is an honor to have you here for Ray and the pups and to thank you for your loyalty. I will stand with you if anything goes wrong. Chris wants the guards to know how much he respects them and is proud of them.

My men have never let me down Chris. If my father starts trouble, I know with you alongside of them they will be safe.

Chris standing behind her puts his arm over her shoulder, I can see why you trust them with your pups.

Ray sees Deon and notices he is still all smiles. Deon what has you so happy?

Lisa and I marked each other last night. After waiting for her to finish school we finally marked each other. We are talking about having pups in a year.

I am so happy for you and Lisa. Ray walks over to Lisa. Congratulations this is the best news I hope you are always this happy.

Thank you, Ray. It was a long time coming and I am so happy to finally be his completely.

I have to go talk to my father about my pups and the pack. We will talk more when I get back.

With the biggest smile she can give, she reaches both hands up putting one on each side of his face and kisses him. It's time to go, we have to meet the king and queen.

The minute they enter the packhouse Ray sends a guard to get Dylan. I need Dylan here now. The one guard runs off to get him. Dylan, who was in his office, came out right away to see what Ray wanted. I'm going to have breakfast with my parents, I want you to get the conference room prepared. Then come join us. See if Sophia is available, it would be a big help if she could come with you. We need to discuss the pack first thing when we are done eating. Then we'll discuss whatever else my parents want to talk about.

Chris goes into the dining room holding Rays hand. Good morning father, mother. She runs and kisses both of them, then goes back to Chris and sits with him. Micah is sitting next to the king and queen staring daggers at the happy couple.

Did you sleep well mom?

We slept very well for the first-time sense you went missing. This time we both knew you were here and safe.

The king sits up abruptly, We have a lot to talk about, a lot of decisions to make.

Yes, father we do. Dylan and Sophia will be joining us so you can meet them. If you would not mind, I would like to spend a little time eating a meal with my family before we get started working.

The queen elbows the king, Yes darling that would be fine.

Dylan walks in with Sophia, bows their heads to the king and queen. Talking and jokes along with stories of childhood were spoken all around the table, making the mood light and happy. Jenna was instigating when she told the king and queen some of the things Ray did when they were not around. Her parents were laughing along with them. All but Micah that is, his face is gloomy, and he has dark circles under his eyes. We need to do some work this morning. Ray, we have no time to waste.

You're right, your majesty. Chris replies, We will meet in the conference room when we're done breakfast.

What we have to say amongst ourselves should be kept that way.

The conference room is soundproof. Dylan informs the king. The king nods his head, and they continue eating.

You said I have grand pups. The queen asks. Her face is all lit up.

You do, they are beautiful.

When do I get to see them?

When we have concluded our business. I would like you to come to the house I'm living in. Maybe have lunch with me and visit with the pups. The queen smiles and nods her head. Father, would you like to join us?

I'm not sure I'm ready for that yet.

Father, they are my children, they are part of me. Also, a part of you.

Chris stands, They are a part of me as well. Do not plan something that will take them from me and Ray. I remember what you did before, it will not happen again.

The king clears his throat, I'm beginning to think what we did was a mistake. Your and Rays union is what the goddess wants. She has made sure she has gotten her way, the two of you are together again. I'm just not sure if I'm ready to handle the way the pups have come to be. I have so much guilt for what has happened to you.

Ray looks at her father, This is my destiny. I dont know why it is, but it is. Father, you cant change destiny. Dont let this take away the only joy that has come from this nightmare. Even though Ray thinks what they did to her and Chris caused her to go through this. She doesnt want to make her father and mother feel any guiltier then they already do.

The king lowers his head filled with sorrow, I will try, sadness rolls across his face. He clears his voice, Let's finish our business. Ray nods
