Saving The Day

When I got home from practice, the alarms went off. The guards get tense as Walter comes through the front door shouting. We have a rouge attack. They are over by the training fields past the edge of the woods.

Stay here! Guard my pups. Do not disappoint me.

Where are you going, Luna? Walter asks concerned. Without a word Ray starts running out the front door turning into Mariah. Her white wolf lands gracefully and is at a full run in one smooth motion. She runs down toward the field, where she sees a battle raging on just below. Standing on the hill above the fighting she can watch everything that is going on.

Ray, what do you want to do?

We have to help them. We can't let the rogues get to the pups. There are too many innocent people in the village also.

You want to try and use your gifts.

I think that's what we need to do. If we can isolate the wind and aim it at just the rogues, we could knock them down and keep them that way.

I believe we can do that if we can concentrate on what you are aiming at. Youre able to bring rain down on them, we can make it so hard they get confused.

A little lightning and thunder would also confuse them. Ray adds.

You have to also remember to make sure you hear and sense anything near us.

Alright I will, but we have to start. With the terrifying scene in front, they take a deep breath out of nowhere the wind picked up. Short but strong breezes started to blow and the rogues over where they stood.

We are going to have to step it up. There are too many of them. Mariah swipes her paw across the ground causing the shaking to knock thirty of the rogues over while the wind kept them there.

You are doing it, try it one more time. Repeating the same move the warriors watch the rogues fall. Before they can get fully on their feet wind started to blow holding them down.

This is fun. Like when we went bowling. They are the pins. Ray laughed. Do it again this time a little harder so they cant get up. Mariah and Ray swing their paws through the air in the opposite direction knocking them over again and again. This time the shock of what happened faded, and the guards were now running and starting to pouncing on them knocking them out.

Its working they are falling. Mariah to the left, there is another group running away.

I see them, raising up standing on her back legs. Suddenly she stomps the ground with all her might. There is a crack of thunder and a flash of lightning in the sky causing all of them to look up and freeze. Lightning strikes the ground in the direction the rogues are running. Rain starts to pour from the sky, it is so hard that it is stinging them, making them disoriented.

You are getting good at this; all the practice is working. Ray s excitement and joy was clear. They dont know what way to run. Their going in circles.

Is this the fun you wanted Ray? Mariah was laughing.

The guards watch the lightning not wanting to get close. The lightning has the rogues corralled in. After thirty minutes of running in circles they lay down from exhaustion. Mariah thats enough let the guards get them.

Take them to the dungeons. Dylan, I have never seen anything like that, the lightning was chasing them.

Dylan looks around White Wolf! He yells to Adrian, Alpha, there is a white wolf up there.

Where is she? I see her.

She is sitting on top of the hill. Just looking down at us.

What are we waiting for go after her.

There is more lightning be careful, Adrian. See the lightening hits the ground when her paw hits the ground.

Mariah, they saw us, time to go! With great agility and speed, they take off. Ray is back in the house, before Adrian and Dylan even get to the top of the hill.

Mind linking Alice, bring me a rob. Mariah shifts back into Ray. Thanks Alice get me some pajamas, I run in the shower.

Luna, I left your clothes on the counter.

Have Doris to dry the floor I dont want it to look like anyone went outside.

Dylan is looking all over for the white wolf, I don't see her anywhere. Adrian, do you?

No, I don't see her, but she has to be around here somewhere. When the guards are done with the rogues, we will have a search party to find her, just keep an eye out for her.

Do you want to check on the Luna and the pups while you're up here?

Yes, that's a good idea, Dylan. I didnt think about them.

Do you want me to check on them? Or am I still forbidden to go near them?

We'll do it together.

As Ray comes out of the bathroom, she has a towel wrapped around her head. All the guards are standing in the hallway just looking at her in amazement. She looks at each of them as she walks to the living room.

I didn't know you could do that, Walter says still in shock. We stood on the porch and watched.

Putting her finger to her lips she whispers, You didnt see that. With a huge grin on her face everyone starts laughing.

Tim looks up in mock despair, We are not supposed to see anything are we? With a small smile Ray just gestures for them to stop. Theres a bang as the front door slams open, Adrian and Dylan walk in.

Ray gets mad, You could have knocked! You did not have to break the door.

This is my home, my pack, I do what I please here.

What can I do for you now?

We had a rogue attack.

Yes, Alpha, I know.

How did you know?

The guards told me that there were rogues, they were going to go to you. I told them they needed to stay here in case the rogues got through.

Have any of you seen a wolf in the yard? A lone wolf?

No, I have not, but I was in the shower. Ray says then turns to the guards to ask, Have any of you?

Seen a wolf, no I havent Jake says shaking his head.

It was a lone wolf that helped us fight the rogues then just ran off.

Did it get hurt? Walter asked concerned. It may have run off because it was hurt. Did you check the woods?

No, it was a white wolf, and it has powers that were unimaginable.

The guards all look at each other, No, Alpha. We have not seen a lone wolf and definitely not a white wolf. Then they all look at Ray while Adrian looks out the door. If we see one, I will mind link you. Walter reassures them. Dylan and Adrian look at each other, noticing the way the guards were acting. Something doesnt seem right, but they dont say anything.
