The Symbol

When they get to the pack house Sophia greets Jenna. Jenna let's put your stuff in your room while they're figuring this out. There will be too many people in that small office.

Thanks Sophia but, I really want to help Micah, Jenna gives Micah a pleading look. I can put my stuff up later; I want to help.

Put your stuff up. You can help when youre done, theres a lot to do. You just got here and have had a long day.

My daughter is right my office wont hold all of you at one time.

Fred how about you go back and get something to eat I will fill you in when we find something,

Fred seems to pout. Alright Chris, thank you for letting me go with you.

I should thank you for finding the clue, without you I wouldnt of found it. Fred smiles when Chris puts his arm on his shoulder. Why dont you and I talk later? I have something I want to talk to you about.

Sophia turns to Jenna. I'll set up the room right next to me.

Im following right behind you Sophia.

We can have a girls night. Sophia says trying to lighten the mood in the room.

Lets find Ray first. Sophia hugs Jenna, seeing how sad she is. Then she takes her up to the pack house. I just want to see you smile I am sorry if it came out wrong.

Its fine, I am not in the mood for much of anything right now.

The three men head to the pack house. My office is over there, both of you follow me. Now where is that book, it has to be here somewhere.

Do you need our help finding it?

I think it is in this section of books. Got it He brings out a rectangular book with a group of symbols on the cover. This book shows everyones symbol. It will be our best chance to find the pack.

After an hour Micah is losing his patience. This is taking forever.

Relax Micah it has only been an hour, they are hard to match.

Easy for you to say Chis you havent been looking as long as the rest of us.

Both of you calm down, this is the last one. I think we all agree these three are a close match. This one might be but isnt as close as the others.

I think that narrows the field way down. Four packs to search is better than fourteen. You have been a big help, Alpha Ralph.

We have fifteen packs Chris dont you even know that?

Micah, I do know that but, I wasnt counting this one. We already know they are not involved. Chris is aggravated with the way Micah is acting. Alpha Ralph I will make sure the king hears of all the help you have been.

Micah wanted to change the topic. With only having half the symbol to go by it is hard to tell which one it is for sure.

Well, that cuts the list down and that should help some. Chris looks at the list of names and runs his hand through his hair. If we only had more of the symbol.

Micah shakes his head, I still dont know where to go next.

This is going to take too long! Chris slams his hand down on the desk.

Micah looks back to Chris, There's no other way that we can do it, I don't know how to find her any faster!

Maybe if I can get the blood test back it will help us determine what pack. Or at least just cut it down even more. I have sent it off already.

You want us to wait for the test Chris? Have you lost your mind?

Once we start searching a pack, it gives the other pack that might have her time to hide her again.

We cant wait forever for that stupid test.

No one knows you are searching packs yet, so stay here until the tests come back. They wont run with her if they dont know you are coming. You are more than welcome to stay.

We wait. This test better give us a real lead after wasting all this time.

Almost two weeks have gone by Chris. How much longer before it comes back?

Relax Micah, it takes two weeks to do the process. From my calculations it has been twelve days. So, it should be back any day now.

I hate all this waiting, once we get it back, we'll have to wait again. There is a lot of decisions that we need to make. Micah starts his pacing around the room.

What are you going to do after you cut the number of packs down? Alpha Ralph inquires.

Im not sure yet. At least we have a chance of finding her now. Plus, we have the men to go in and take her back. Chris replies.

I hope so, I really hope so. Micah sighs. We dont have enough to do more than one pack. If we pick the wrong one, we can lose her again.

Jenna knocks on the office door, Has the test come back yet? Did you find anything? Do you think we can find her? Im so worried about Ray.

We're trying, Micahs eyes show how tired he is as he closes them and rubs them with his right thumb and forefinger. Jenna, we've cut down the number of packs we have to search. If we go by this piece of shirt, I think we will only have four. That is still too many.

What do we do next? Jenna looks at Chris for answers.

We're going to wait for the test on the blood to come back. Then see if it gives us another lead.

Is that all we can do, wait.

For now yes, we will find her I give you my word. Chris tells her finally letting out some of his emotions.
