Remembering Their Youth

Alpha Ralph I need to thank you for letting us stay here until the tests have come in. This has been hard on you and your pack. Jenna wants him to know how much she appreciates his help.

Alpha Ralph smiles. Since there is no work we can do tonight on the case, why don't we have a nice dinner and get to know each other better?

That would be nice, thank you. Jenna accepts his offer for everyone. She is looking around at them, as if to dare them to refuse.

We need to go back down to the tents to get some clean clothes. Micah states then asks, Before dinner would it be possible to borrow one of your showers? So, we can get cleaned up properly for the dinner.

Sophia, do your father a favor. Get one of the guest rooms together and have extra towels put in there so our guests could use it for the rest of their stay. I think you both would be much more comfortable. I should of thought of it sooner.

Yes, Father I dont mind at all.

Micah and Chris go to the tents, gather their clothes and head back to the pack house to get cleaned up. Micah, why don't you go first. I'll go after you.

Thanks, Chris. The bathroom door closes, and you hear the shower running.

Chris lays down on the bed and his mind drifts off to Ray. Im going to find you, I promise. I don't know why you smell like you're pregnant, what have they done to you my beautiful Ray, my Princess, my whole life.

He is still thinking as Micah comes through the bathroom door drying off. It's all yours.

Thanks, I wont be long. Chris and Micah leave the bedroom heading for the dining room downstairs.

Micah takes his turn waiting for Chris. He leans on the head bord of the bed. I cant forget that dress she wore. It was so beautiful and let my mind imagine what it would be like to have her in my arms forever. When I was younger, I never thought I would have a chance to make her mine. Cris fucked up bad and it happened she is mine now and he thinks he can change things, but I wont let him, she is staying mine.

Chris walks out seeing Micah lost in thought. We might not be on the best of speaking terms, but I can see how much we are alike. You make the same furrow when you are thinking about something and cant figure it out.

You can blame dad, hes the one that started it. Lets go eat I am starving.

You two boys clean up nice.

You look pretty too, Jenna.

Thank you, kind sir. She curtsies to Micah.

Come sit, take a chair anywhere. Sophia says.

This is very nice of your father Sophia.

I am happy to see you all made it. I wish my son was here to meet you all. He is away at Alpha training; I am looking forward to the day he takes over.

My brother is much larger than me, but he is a gentle as a kitten.

You shouldnt talk about your brother like that. He is a calm leader not like some of the Alphas out there, but he can get his point across when needed.

Micah gets quiet, after looking at Jenna, he starts to think about Ray. Seeing her has him thinking about the last time he saw her. After the Alphas ball. He took her for a walk in the garden and they talked about their future. He didnt want kids and she wanted a castle full they decided on three.

Micah you were a thousand miles away.

I am sorry Sophy, what did you say?

How long have you known Ray?

Since the day she was born. Ray is two years younger than me. Micah finally answers her still lost a bit in his thoughts.

What about you Chris? How long have you known her?

I was three years old when she was born. We have been together ever since. He says sadly then shaking his head he adds faking a smile, Jenna is her best friend she has been with us as long as Ray has. She was our second little princess.

Jenna says laughing, All the trouble the four of us got into all the time. To be honest, Chris started a lot of it.

Hey, I didn't start a lot of it. Chris starts to laugh, I just covered up for you guys when you made messes. Or you got into something you knew you didn't belong in. Like the time you three decided to wash the lawn chairs and got soap all over.

That was Rays fault she spilt the chocolate syrup on them when she snuck it out for us to make chocolate mild with our snack. Micah clarifies. Jenna is right you got us in a lot of trouble when we were little.

See thats just the way I thought it was too, Micah agrees. Jenna smiles as she winks at Micah wanting to get Chris aggravated in a teasing sort of way.

Well, I'm going to disagree on that one. I don't know who started more trouble, but to be honest I kind of blame Ray for most of it. That girl never stopped getting into everything. Chris continues laughing.

She always talked us into it. Micah started to laugh harder and so did Jenna, both of them realizing Chris was probably right.

Jenna laughed remember when she thought it would be a good idea to play hide and seek with the guards. She took me and we his for hours and they couldnt find us. The king had to call out a search party before she gave up and we came out.

We were at home when she did that. Dad got a call to help search for her. By the time we got to the castle she climbed out all smile so proud of herself. Micah was shaking his head smiling.

She was always bold and brave. She was never afraid of anything or anybody. Jenna says thinking of her friend. Realizing she's not there in the room, everyone gets quiet for a few minutes.

She sounds like she's an amazing woman even as a child.

You just don't know Alpha. You really just don't know. Chris answers. She has the power to hold your heart in her hand and make your world a happier place. She does it with out even knowing she is doing it. He gets solemn and starts to eat not wanting to remember anything else right at that moment.
