Names And Gifts

You have had a long day why dont you go sit and I will get you a cup of tea.

I am going to take you up on that offer Doris.

Just as Doris hands me my cup of tea, Adrian slams into the house, here we go again. What can I do for you, Alpha Adrian?

Why didn't you wait for me? I would have brought you home.

I have no time for two grown men to decide who was going to take us home. You both were acting like children.

Dylan will not be around for a while.

What has happened to Dylan?

I put him through the wall. He says smiling. You are to inform me if he comes here again.

What will happen if he does come around?

He will lose his rank if he does. He thinks he has the right to tell me how to run this pack and treat you.

Alpha, he has done nothing but shown respect and helped when I've needed it. He has told me he was just doing it because you sent him, was he lying to me? When he came here and told me that you wanted the pups to have the best and that you have come to care for me, was that all a lie? This lie should help get him out of trouble.

He had no right to tell you those things. He has overstepped his responsibilities.

So, you were not busy as he said, and he was not bringing me messages from you. You being this angry makes me believe he wasn't telling me the truth. He said that you sent him, that you wanted to make sure we were cared for. I pretend to start to cry.

No, he did not lie to you, Adrian turns around walks off, he doesn't say a word. This conversation hopefully will get Dylan out of trouble.

You really can piss him off. It was nice that you stood up for the Beta.

It was the right thing to do, he may care for me, but he has never acted on it in a wrong way and has been there for all of us. Now I am going to try to get my cup of tea and read a good book until the pups get up. Walter, why dont you and the rest of the family get some rest.

That night the basinets are put in my room right by my bed. This way I can hear them when they wake. Thank you for bringing them in with me Alice and Doris. I hope they dont wake you when they get up.

One of us will be sleeping on the couch to get up with you at night. I have tonight. Alice is all smiles.

Why dont we put a bed in my room? It would be more comfortable than that lumpy couch. There is a lot of room in my room.

Okay, there are two beds in our room we will bring one of them in your room. Maybe one of the guards can help us move it? Doris leaves to talk to the guards.

We are going to take turns and make sure you have help with the pups, it will be like taking shifts. You are going to need help. We both are looking forward to helping because they are so soft, and small, and just so cute. She then takes both hands and acts like she is pinching in the air. I love squishing their little cheeks.

Just as I close my eyes Mariah decides to talk to me. I told you that you would have a surprise, four pups were born not three. Also, you had all girls.

You were right that was a surprise. I wish you would have told me ahead of time I would have had things better prepared.

I wasnt allowed. The moon goddess wanted it to be a surprise. I also told you five days after they were born something would happen.

I remember. You told me that when I was feeling really down.

The moon goddess has given you a lot of powers that you were supposed to get when you turned eighteen. But since you have had the pups, she has gifted them to you early.

Wait one second, she gave me powers, can I use them to get home?

Not until you learn how they work, and you can control them. They will start coming to you one at a time, they are very strong. I will teach you how to use these powers, but you're going to have to be where nobody can see us. Just people you trust like the ones who took their blood oath.

When are they coming? This is really exciting I would be able to go home and finally have a life that I always wanted.

You are starting tomorrow. You will go in the woods by yourself or with two of your trusted guards. I will start showing you your powers and how to use them.

Do I have to be in wolf form to use them?

No, you can do it in human form, but it is stronger when you're a wolf.

I still don't want them to see you are a white wolf.

I understand that and it's a good idea you don't show anyone. Starting tomorrow whenever you mastered one power you will be given the next.

How many are there? How long does it take to master them?

Five different powers. I need to tell you one more thing you have to know. Your powers are going to be gifted to your children. You will never lose your powers, just as each child grows one power will grow with them. By the time they're eighteen each one will have their full power. Unlike you they will never hold all the powers. You hold all five, they will only hold one each.

Mariah, I only have four daughters. I don't have five.

Please dont have a fit but that daughter will be borne by you and a much stronger Alpha. Her power is going to be like yours, she will hold all five of them.

This is too much to take in all at one time. How am I going to keep them safe.

I will help you; your guards and the omegas will help you as well. No one is to know this about your children. Each one has a mark on their right shoulder blade that represents the element they can control.

Thats why you wanted the plagues.

I only found out the day they were born but was told not to tell you until your powers were to come to you.

The moon goddess really does talk to you.

Actually, this might help me name them. I love history, Greek mythology was one of my favorites. There are goddesses for each element, we can name each one after them. Or we can name each one with the first letter of the element they possess? Which way do you think would be best?

I dont know, let me think about it. She gets quiet for a few minutes. Using the first letter of their element may be best, it gives you more choices.

At least it will tell me what theyre in charge of. Anastasia will possess the power of the air. Evangeline will have earth. Wynonna will control the waters. Felicity will be our little fire starter. I wanted to name her Phoenix because it sounds like an F but it is actually a PH.

The names are all pretty. I agree, Phoenix is the right sound, but I like Felicity. She is going to be a handful. Now get some sleep tomorrow will be a long day. With that said Mariah curls up into a little ball as she sleeps. Ray smiles and falls fast asleep herself. At least until two in the morning when everyone wakes up hungry.

Doris, you get the bottles, and I will rock them until you get back.

Deon walks in and takes one of the babies. Let me help I need to get practice. One day I will have one of my own.

Ray in her sleepy state gave him a half smile and rocked two of the babies. I know you will be a wonderful father.

I hope we never have four at a time. Deon smiles nervously.
