Rays pov

Ray, come on. Ray, get up.

Why are you waking me up? She complains, You know we have not slept much all night.

The sun is going down and you need to practice, or you will never be able to use your powers.

I'm taking a nap. They're going to have me up all night. You get to sleep I dont.

Ray, get up and go out in the damn woods with two guards and practice now! Mariah growls at her.

Alright, Mariah, alright. Ray yawns and stretches her arms and legs. I'm going. By the time Ray finally gets out of bed and finds Walter and Deon to go with her, thirty minutes has passed and most of the sun has gone down. Im ready guys lets go.

Deon, Walter, make sure there is nobody out here.

Yes, Luna. Deon says as they turn to walk the perimeter. We're on our way to check it out now.

Mariah, what do I have to learn?

You have to control the air.

How do I control the air? You are going to have to give me more details than that.

You can make wind blow, make it go right or left, even make little tornadoes. You can get angry enough to make a hurricane once you master it.

That sounds exciting but do I use the power in human form or wolf form?

It is easier to learn in human form. I need you to sit down there or stand there, whichever you want. Concentrate as hard as you can on the air. Then wherever you want the air to go take your finger and make it move.

Mariah, I'll try sitting there.

Think about the air. Think about the breeze blowing in your hair.

Ray listens carefully to Mariah. When she feels that she is ready, she takes her finger, lifts it up, and points to the left. She opens her eyes expecting to be amazed, but there's no change.

Mariah, this is not working. Ray pouts and grumbles. Her lack of sleep is making her grumpy.

Just keep trying. Its your first time. Laughing Mariah adds, Do you think you're going to learn to walk on your first try? You have to learn to crawl before you walk and walk before you run. You can do this. You just clear your mind and concentrate. Don't let anything else get in your mind, until you know how to use your power.

Ray tries again, nothing happens. She tried four more times with no luck. She's really getting aggravated. Walter and Deon just look at her, both men thinking she's crazy. Suddenly, she decides instead of using a finger she uses her whole hand. When she swings her hand from right to left, the wind picks up and blows through the bushes. Look at that I did it! I did it!

Alright that's just a little breeze you didn't even make it last long. So, keep working on it. Mariah encourages Ray.

The guards look with awe and amazement as she makes the air dance around them. Walter then says, Sorry, Luna. It's been an hour we have to get back before someone decides to come out here.

As she turns around and looks at the guards, This is something you can never tell anybody. This is something that has to stay between us. I know we have taken a blood oath and I know you are loyal to me, but you need to be very careful, this could destroy me and the pups. Others will come for us and there will never be any peace in our lives.

Walter and Deon look at Ray, Luna, no one would believe us if we told them anyway. Deon says rubbing his head. They all started laughing.

Ray flicks her fingers causing the air to blow their hair around, Let's go home.

The next night. Ray time to go. Walter yells into the house. Ray and two guards go every night to practice. After a weeks time Ray can twirl the air and she's starting to be able to make small tornadoes.

You are getting so good controlling the air, the last tornado you made danced around just like you wanted.

I wanted to make something bigger, but I am afraid someone would see it and we would get caught.

It was like magic watching you. Jamie, who was with them, was amazed at her abilities.

I have gotten air down. Do you want to start on the next one?

Mariah smiled in Rays head. Lets go back to the house and I will talk to the goddess.

As soon as I got back to the house, I went to the bedroom looking at the pups, Arent they beautiful, Mariah?

They are so beautiful. I love watching them sleep they look like little angles. Mariah purrs with so much love and pride.

We did a good job. Ray says with a smile on her face. I would not have changed anything as long as I have my pups.

I'm glad you can love them, they are part of you. Mariah says sweetly then turns to business. It's been a week and you have mastered one of your gifts. The moon goddess agrees with you its time to try another one.

Which one? Ray sounds excited.

Well, I think this week your next gift will be water. You will need to go where there is a spring to practice this one.

OK, I know where there's a river. If Im wrong the guards will know where there is one. We will go there tomorrow night.

Youre tired, take the rest of the night off and get some sleep. Tomorrow night we can start again.

That's sounds good. The pups are sleeping, I think I'm going to take your advice and take a nap.

Me too. I do get up with you at night.

Oh yeah you get up and make sure I am up then go back to sleep.
