Seeing Mom and Dad

Ray heads out to find Chris so they can go do some sparring and training.

She looks down at the field and sees people down there already. I guess he went without me. I'll catch up with him. The closer she gets to the training field, the more she hears yelling and hollering, the two brothers are fighting.

I thought we were going to train today. I didn't expect you two would be fighting.

We are not fighting. Micah says.

Right, you know our brotherly love. We're going to wrestle and see which one can take out the other. Chris adds.

Ray makes a face, they both know that face. She is telling them that they are in trouble, just like when they were younger, and they pissed her off. You never wanted to piss off Ray oh no she can be a handful.

Can you stop this now? Neither of them is listening to her. She gets this shitty grin. Mariah, want to have some fun?

I know what you are thinking go for it. With a little flick of her fingers both of them fall over from a small but strong burst of air.

Micah didnt know where the burst of air came from, but Chris did. Where did that come from? Hes looking around What happened?

Chris knowingly gives Ray a stern look. I know what you did.

I'm the one who needs training I'm out of practice. Ray bats her eye lashes at them. So how about I take you Micah first? If I win, I get to train with Chris.

What do you say, Micah? Do you think you can beat this lady? Chris taunts.

You can't win, Ray. You're a girl, you're too little. Look at you, you're not even five foot four inches. Micah teases.

I can still beat you! Ray says with a smirk on her face. Just like when we were kids. Ray gets in the fighting stance. Micah joins in getting in his own fighting stance they circle each other.

You sure you want to do this, Ray? You know I'm stronger than you.

Oh, I don't know about that, Micah.

We'll see. Micha charges straight at Ray, but he's too slow. Ray jumps over him landing on her feet laughing at him. Micah kiddingly says, Now you done it you have pissed off the beast. He charges one more time at Ray, who side steps him.

Ray jokes back, You have to do better than that. She sees her opening and charges, landing on his back shoving him face down on the ground.

When did you get so strong?

Thats what happens when you have pups. I also got my wolf.

My turn, baby. You think you can handle me?

Chris, we will just have to see about that. Ray circles him looking for an opening, then she runs at him, he allows her to tackle him.

Before she can get up Chris wraps his arms around her, Now this is all worth it.

Micah yells, This is for training not for you two to make out! He was so pissed he stamps off.

Ray pokes Chris in the side, That was not nice. Micah has feelings. Now let me up or else.

Or else what? Cant you take a joke.

Dont let go and you will see. He reaches over and gives her a kiss. Her temper instantly cooled off. We have to check on the pups and get ready for my parents tonight.

Sounding like a three-year-old he replies, Do we have too? This is so much more fun.

We have to get ready for mom and dad, They will be here tonight.

They are at the gates everyone get ready. Ray is nervous and waiting for them, watching excitedly as the car nears the gates.

They see Ray, the queen bolts out of the car before it stopped wanting to hold her daughter I thought I would never see you again. The king reaches his long arms out and circles them both in a huge hug. It took over three hours to get to this pack land from the castle, so they didnt arrive until after ten o'clock at night.

It is late mom, dad lets get to the pack house and get the two of you settled. Chris is waiting at the top of the steps along with Jenna and Micah. Chris goes straight to Ray when the car pulls up. The two of them are holding hands.

Your majesties, nice to see the two of you again.

Chris, nice to see you too. The queen replies.

Mom, can I have one more of your unforgettable hugs? I have missed them so much.

She reaches out to hug her. There is so much I want to say. I've missed you. Did they hurt you?

Mom, it's late. We will talk about everything tomorrow. I just want to see you and be with you and dad. She abruptly turns looking at her father hes so much taller than her and grabs his neck and hugs him to pieces. The king kind of gasped and then grabbed his daughter and holds her tight. Come I'll show you to your rooms and get you all settled. Everything else will wait till tomorrow. I just needed to see you and make sure you are really here.

We needed to see you, that you were really here baby girl. They all walk in the house, and she shows them their room, One last good night, Ill see you in the morning.

You need some sleep Ray we need to get to bed. Chris takes her hand and heads to the house and the girls.

The pups will be up soon I have to get home to feed them. I like to be there whenever they have to eat. As soon as they walk through the door they are crying, They are right on schedule.

They are really so loud when they're hungry.

You can sleep in the packhouse if it bothers you.

I never said it bothered me. It may give me a headache, but it doesn't bother me. Chris picks up one of the pups then takes a bottle and starts feeding her Which one do I have?

You have Wynonna.

How do you know which ones which? They look so much alike.

Once you spend time with them, you'll see there's a lot of things they have in common but there's still those little things that are different. If you look at their shoulders, you will see a birthmark. Wynonna is for water, she has a wave on her shoulder.

Well, that is definitely unique and a big help.

We will have to make sure they have stuff that always covers their shoulders so no one can see the mark. We don't want anyone to know what they can do, they may try to steal them.

Chris looks at Ray picks up her chin, We will never let that happen. I will guard these pups with my life.

I know that it still doesn't stop me from worrying. After feeding the four pups they tucked them in bed.

Doris comes over, You sure you don't want me to take them, so you have some quiet time?

I don't think I could sleep without them near me but thank you. Tomorrow I will need your help with the children while I'm taking care of my parents.

Yes, Luna that's fine. Everybody goes to get some well-earned sleep.
