Yuri had a lot to do; she did not even notice that it had been ten days since she talked with Giancarlo, and since then, they haven't seen each other.

When she walked out of that room that day, she went straight to her bedroom and allowed herself to break down. The weight of the situation had finally caught up to her, and she couldn't hold back the tears any longer. She had been so strong in front of everyone else, but now that she was alone, she could let herself feel all the emotions that had been building up inside of her. It wasn't just sadness that she felt; it was anger, frustration, and confusion as well.

But then, reality came washing over her, and there was nothing she could do. It's not as if her crying would bring her father back to life.

And with that thought in mind, she slowly began to calm down and prepare herself for whatever came next.

She spent her days trying to search for those people on the list. The mafia boss was generous enough to let her utilize his resources and even his intelligence team.

Out of the ten people on the list, half are already dead, while the others are working on different precincts.

While Matthew Kelley is of course, in One Police Plaza given that he is already the commissioner.

Whenever the man crossed her mind, she couldn't help but feel the anger rising in her chest. She wondered if he ever thought about her father and if he regretted anything, although deep down, she knew that it didn't matter.

Especially when she read the reports of Giancarlo's intelligence team mentioning that Kelley had been involved in a number of controversies during his career, although the cases have all been dismissed.

But she was wondering why Giancarlo was used when he had not even met the mafia boss at all.

Isn't it because he knows that Giancarlo doesn't go after people who impersonate him or use his name for whatever reason? Or perhaps he is perfectly aware that Giancarlo holds a level of power and influence within the criminal underworld that he thought using his name would have them just give up right away?

She could feel that the truth was just lurking around the corner. It was as if a puzzle was waiting to be solved.

She sighed heavily and decided to take a break.  She stretched her arms and legs, feeling the tension slowly dissipate from her body. She had been working tirelessly for hours, and her mind was exhausted. As she opened her eyes, she noticed the sun setting outside. The sky was painted with hues of orange and pink.

With renewed energy, she stood up and decided to go for a walk outside. The first thing she noticed was that there were no people around. Usually, Giancarlo has men stationed all over the corners, but she couldn't find anyone at that moment.

She suddenly felt uneasy as she thought of the possibility that the villa was under attack. She does not have any weapons aside from the hair pin on her head that she used to stab Giancarlo with back then and that Valentin gave her as a parting gift.

She crawled down the stairs, making no noise. She could be wrong, but there is no harm in being careful, especially since the place is owned by a mafia boss who has enemies all over. As she reached the bottom of the stairs, she surveyed her surroundings. Suddenly, she heard footsteps approaching from behind her. She automatically reached for the hair pin and was about to attack, but she stopped. It was then that she realized that it was one of Giancarlo's men who was quite surprised to see her, especially with the weapon.

"It seems like you have detected danger, Signorina. Is there something wrong? Did you see anyone unfamiliar?" the man asked in a worried tone.

She shook her head. "I was just being careful because I was wondering why there was no one on the second floor."
