"The baby and your wife are both alright now, Mr. Costa. But she needs to rest and recover, so I recommend that she stays here for a few more days," the doctor reassured Giancarlo, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder.
"It looked like she had been in great stress leading up to this moment. She is pregnant, Mr. Costa, and she needs to take extra care of herself and the baby. You have to eliminate any sources of stress and ensure she gets plenty of rest and support during this crucial time."
Giancarlo nodded as he slowly let go of the breath he had been holding for the past few minutes. He stared down at Yuri's sleeping figure. Just thinking that she was almost in danger again, it made his heart race with fear.
"I love you," he whispered softly, placing a gentle kiss on Yuri's forehead. With determination in his eyes, he vowed to do everything in his power to protect both Yuri and their unborn child.
She had been through a lot already, and he couldn't bear the thought of her enduring any more hardships. And now that he is the new head of the family, he will make sure that Yuri never has to face any danger again.
The door opened, and Giancarlo thought that it was Favio who entered, but it was Agatha.
"Let's talk outside," Agatha said tonelessly, and she approached Yuri with a concerned expression on her face.
Giancarlo decided to move away to give them some privacy, and after a few minutes, Agatha looked at him as if asking what his decision would be about her proposal for them to talk outside.
He wouldn't prefer to leave Yuri, but he figured that he needed to sort things out with Agatha as well. He nodded and gestured for her to lead the way.
When they stepped outside, he told Favio to keep an eye on Yuri and let him know if anything changed before he proceeded to follow Agatha.
They went to the hospital's garden, where they found a quiet bench to sit on.
"Is it already official that you are the head of the family?" Agatha asked, breaking the silence.
He nodded at that. "Before I left, I made sure that all the necessary arrangements were in place. I also revoked the marriage proposal of the Moretti family if that is what you are worried about. If Emilio Moretti would contest my decision, then he would have to go to war with me, and I doubt he wants that even though I killed her brother, because now the whole island already knows that The Red Queen has returned."
Agatha shook her head at that. "I did not have an intention to return if it wasn't because of what almost happened to my daughter, and I intend to only stay long enough to ensure her safety and well-being."
"Yuri needs to know that double life you were living, Agatha. I did not want it to come from me. At the end of the day, you are still her mother, and it is your responsibility to be honest with her about your past. If there is one thing I have learned about your daughter, it is that she does not want things to be hidden from her even though it means protecting her."
Agatha was silent, but she knew that Giancarlo was right. If she only knew that a time would come when Yuri would find out the truth, she could've been the one to find out what happened to her husband. But he made her swear that she would never go back to her old life, especially because it would put Yuri in danger.
"Despite who you used to be and what you have done, you are still the mother of the woman I love, and I couldn't do this without your blessing. Agatha, I love your daughter more than life itself. She means everything to me, and I want nothing more than to spend the rest of my life making her happy. Please allow me to marry your daughter."
