Yuri's eyes widened as she did a mental calculation in her head. She had been so busy with a lot of things that she did not even realize that she had not had her period for the past month.
She swallowed hard and looked at the doctor. "Yes, let's do that now so we can be sure."
The doctor nodded with a smile before opening his bag to give her a pregnancy test. He explained the procedure and handed it to Yuri, reassuring her that it was a simple and quick process. As Yuri held the test in her hand, she couldn't help but feel nervous as thoughts raced through her mind.
Giancarlo wanted to accompany her to the comfort room, but she declined, assuring him that she would be fine on her own. As she entered the restroom, Yuri took a deep breath and followed the instructions carefully, making sure to follow each step precisely. She tried to calm her racing heart as she waited for the results, hoping for the best but preparing herself for any outcome.
She covered her face with her hands, thinking how stupid she had been. She could've figured out the possibility of that when she started to feel sick with the scent of garlic and her weird cravings for apple juice.
She let a few minutes pass before checking the results. As she anxiously looked at the test, her heart sank. The two pink lines on the test just confirmed that her life was about to change forever.
"Yuri? Are you still there?" it was Giancarlo who knocked on the door, concerned about her silence.
Not wanting to cause worry, Yuri turned the knob and opened the door. With trembling hands, she showed him the result.
Giancarlo was speechless for a moment, his eyes widening as he took in the sight of the positive pregnancy test. Slowly, a smile spread across his face, and he pulled Yuri into a tight embrace.
"We're going to be parents," he whispered, his voice filled with both excitement and a hint of nervousness. They stood there, holding each other, while Yuri, on the other hand, was in tears of joy.
Of course, she is scared. She had never expected to become a parent so soon, and the weight of the responsibility was beginning to sink in. However, as Giancarlo continued to hold her and whisper reassurances that she would not face this alone, she knew that she would be alright.

The news of her pregnancy quickly spread throughout the household, but Giancarlo decided not to let the news reach his family in Sicily for now, as he didn't want any unnecessary conflicts to erupt that would put both Yuri and their child in danger.
With how things are going, Giancarlo knows that it's not just his brothers with whom he should be concerned.
"Is an elevator even necessary, Favio? It seems like your boss thinks that being pregnant is a disability," Yuri muttered under her breath as she glanced at the elevator being installed in the villa, which of course was what Giancarlo had ordered.
Favio laughed at that. "Since the boss already told you what he had to do to his father, then I am going to be straightforward with you, Signorina. Giancarlo does not have a role model when it comes to being a good parent, so please don't judge him too harshly. He's just trying to make things easier for your pregnancy. He's just doing what he thinks is best for you and the baby."
Favio's words struck a chord with Yuri, reminding her that Giancarlo's intentions were rooted in his desire to provide for their growing family. She couldn't help but soften her stance and appreciate his efforts, even if they seemed excessive at times.
After they found out that she was pregnant, they went to the hospital to get a check-up and ensure that everything was progressing smoothly. She couldn't forget how Giancarlo reacted to seeing the ultrasound of the baby, even though so far it was just a tiny dot on the screen because it had only been five weeks.
