Cassius took a deep breath as he reached for the white envelope from his bag containing a letter.

Today is the day that he will put into action the plan Yuri and he came up with to know whether, aside from the corrupted police, there are any other individuals involved in the questionable drug activities in the precincts of New York and what really happened the night Juan Carlos Rivera did not come home.

As he unfolded the letter, he couldn't help but feel a mix of excitement and fear, knowing that this plan could potentially expose a network much larger than they had anticipated. With every step he took towards unraveling the truth, he understood that the consequences could be far-reaching and dangerous.

But it is too late now to back down from the fight. Not when Yuri was brave enough to gamble on trusting him about this, and even the mafia was involved. He couldn't discern yet whether it was the right thing to accept the help of a criminal in his pursuit of justice, but Giancarlo Costa's power and influence might be the answer he needed to expose the truth and bring the culprits to justice. As he weighed the risks and benefits, he couldn't ignore the nagging feeling that this alliance could either make or break his mission.

His phone vibrated in his pocket, and it was a message from one of Giancarlo's men, stating that he could now enter the post office as they had already hacked into the CCTV system. Even though they have made sure that he will not be recognized, he still puts on a disguise to ensure his anonymity.

After filling in the details and doing the necessary things to have the letter sent, Cassius casually exited the post office. taking a detour through a crowded marketplace to throw off anyone who might be following him and to get rid of his disguise.

He then went to the precinct like he would normally do every day, making sure that he maintained his routine to avoid suspicion. He greeted his colleagues and engaged in casual conversations, blending in seamlessly with the daily activities at the precinct.

He braced himself when he saw the precinct receptionist, who was holding letters and files from the mailbox. It is highly likely that the letter he sent this morning is already included there.

With a deep breath, he gathered the folder on his desk and walked towards the table of Captain Jones's secretary.

"I need the Captain to sign these documents. Is he there in his office by any chance?"

The secretary nodded her head. "Yes, and you may enter."

After bidding his thanks, he knocked on the door twice before turning the knob. He found the captain behind the desk talking to someone on the phone. He was about to go out of the room when he stopped him and signaled him to wait.

The captain ended his call and motioned for him to come closer.

"What can I do for you?" the captain asked, giving him a curious look.

"I just need you to sign these documents," he explained, handing over the folder containing the documents that needed to be signed. The captain quickly skimmed through them, signing each page with a practiced hand.

Cassius used that as an opportunity to reach into his pocket for the bug hidden in it. He discreetly placed it under the desk, ensuring that it would capture any important conversations in the room. Once he had made sure that the bug was securely in place, he withdrew his hand and maintained a composed demeanor, which is just the perfect timing because Captain Jones has finished signing the documents.

"Thank you for bringing these to me. Is there anything else you need?"

He was about to respond when there was a knock on the door, and it was the receptionist holding the all-too-familiar white envelope.
