She slipped into a pair of jeans and a plain white t-shirt, opting for sneakers to ensure comfort. As she finished getting ready, she couldn't help but feel curious about where the mafia boss was planning to take her.
Not wasting any more time, she went out of the room and found Giancarlo leaning on the door, waiting for her.
"Is my outfit alright, or should I change?" she asked, slightly nervous about her attire.
Giancarlo looked her up and down, a small smile playing on his lips. "You look perfect," he assured her, his eyes lingering on her face.
She expected that Favio would be going with them, but aside from the driver, there was no one else accompanying them. She wanted to ask if he was upset with Favio, but she figured that she should not be asking such a personal question, so she sealed her lips tight.
"Sullivan contacted me last time and told me that he would have an opportunity to meet that commissioner. He wanted to know how he could use that to your advantage."
Yuri's eyebrows shot up at that. "Well, I have been reserving Kelley as the last person whom I am going to see, so I haven't thought about that yet. Why did he call you instead of me? Aren't you even nervous that he might be tracking your location?"
Giancarlo smirked at that. "I'm not worried about that as I have my own security measures in place. Plus, him contacting me is a part of the deal we made. I told him that whatever it is that he needs to tell you must go through me first."
She just quietly nodded at that. Of course, she understands that the mafia boss himself wants to make sure that working with her and Cassius is a foolproof decision.
After almost half an hour, they stopped in front of a huge mansion. Yuri narrowed her eyes, as it was a place she didn't expect to go. She followed quietly as the front gates opened, and they were welcomed by some men and women wearing custom black suits.
She thought that maybe they were going to meet one of Giancarlo's associates. They were already walking towards the entrance of the mansion when a man appeared with a big smile on his face and arms open wide.
"I did not expect you to arrive tonight, Mr. Costa," the man said, smiling as he shook hands with Giancarlo.
Yuri narrowed her eyes, as the man seemed oddly familiar to her. She's certain that she has already seen him once or twice before.
"It's good to see you, Azrael," the man said, looking at her. That's when a realization hit her.
"It's good to see you too, Mr. Lautner. How have you been?"
Robert Lautner laughed at her question, but he grasped her hands and shook them softly.
"I have been sleeping better since you have already taken care of my nightmare. I did not expect to see you here."
She was about to answer, but Giancarlo spoke. "I have more important things to do, Robert, so why don't we start with the reason for my being here?"
Giancarlo's interruption caught her off guard, but Robert nodded in agreement. "Of course, I know that you are a busy man, so let's get down to business. Follow me then."
As they walked through the hallway, she couldn't help but feel a sense of curiosity about Giancarlo's reason for meeting Robert, who is a business tycoon. The man was a client of St. George Army, and if her memory serves her right, he gave them a task to kill a business competitor, and she was the one sent by George to accomplish the mission.
When they entered the room, the first thing Yuri noticed was that the shelves around them were filled with guns and various other weapons. The sight of the arsenal made her wonder what kind of situation Giancarlo and Robert were involved in and how it was connected to her given that Giancarlo brought her there.
