After a quick bath and putting on a simple dress, Yuri headed to the door and was now being accompanied by Giancarlo. She thought that she was going alone, but it looked like Giancarlo was too worried to leave her on her own.

They walked the long lobby until they finally stopped in front of a grand set of double doors. There were two men guarding it, and when they saw them, they immediately opened it.

As soon as they stepped inside, the first face that Yuri saw was the donna's, who was sitting behind a large mahogany desk, exuding an air of authority. Aside from her, there were also other people in the room, including the women of Giancarlo's brothers and the man he met last time, who was the donna's consigliere.

The room was filled with an intense atmosphere, as if everyone was on edge. The donna's piercing gaze locked onto her, but she refused to feel intimidated.

"Fai breve il motivo per cui siamo qui. Dov'è l'oggetto?" (Get straight to the point for why we're here. Where is the object?) Giancarlo started, breaking the deafening silence.

The donna only responded with a subtle smirk and looked at her consigliere as if to silently communicate their shared understanding. The man then bowed his head, and then she saw him take a box from the table before walking in their direction. He stopped in front of her, then opened the box, revealing its contents to them. It was a set of jewelry sparkling with diamonds and gemstones, which shares a faint resemblance to the ones Giancarlo gave her a week ago and also bears the Edelweiss symbol.

"Sembra che tu voglia morire oggi," (You look like you want to die today)

there was an unmistakable edge to Giancarlo's tone, and even though Yuri does not understand it, she could sense the threat in his words, and the reaction of the people around them was enough evidence of the seriousness of the situation.

The donna's smirk grew wider, her eyes gleaming with a mix of amusement and defiance.

"Quelli non significano già nulla, nel momento in cui hai deciso di portare quella donna qui." (Those already mean nothing the moment you decided to bring that woman here)

As Giancarlo and the donna continued to bicker, Yuri just remained looking at the jewelry, which is obviously the heirloom of the family and is supposed to be given to Giancarlo's future wife, but given their situation, it seemed highly unlikely that the jewelry would never be given to her.

She gripped Giancarlo's arm tightly, so he was forced to look at her and listen to what she had to say.

"The ones you have given me are more beautiful, and I like them better. If these are the items for the auction tonight, then let's make sure that they will end up in good hands," she said, smiling confidently.

Giancarlo's face softened, although the murderous rage still lingered in his eyes. Auctioning off the Edelweiss heirloom is just another way for the donna to let them know that Yuri is not welcome in the family. And it's as if that's not enough; she also wants to humiliate her further by being the one who is going to wear the heirloom during the auction.

"You have already broken your family's tradition the moment you chose to be with me," Yuri added, her voice tinged with sadness. "No heirloom can change that, and it's not really important to me whether I wear it or not. What truly matters is our love and the bond we shared; don't you agree?"

Despite the fact that Yuri isn't really bothered by the disrespect, Giancarlo still couldn't help but feel a pang of guilt, seeing that his woman is being treated cruelly by his family. If he only knew that it would happen, maybe he would not have decided for them to come to Sicily at all, although it would put Yuri and their child's lives at stake.
