She doesn't doubt that, as she knows that her father is just the kind of person who would do the right thing despite the consequences. He had always been selfless, and she witnessed it through the years.

But perhaps he did not expect that this time it would cost him his life.

"We were told that it was Giancarlo Costa who ordered the hit on my father. If it was Luigi Torricelli, then how come the other mafia boss got involved in something he knows nothing about?"

Crisanto was evidently surprised, as maybe he did not expect that question.

"Giancarlo Costa is the most powerful and influential mafia boss in the country, and a lot of criminals have been pretending to be him, but he couldn't care less about his impostors. Perhaps Torricelli also knows that, so he decided to take advantage of the situation and frame Costa for the hit. And during the time it happened, Matthew Kelley was running for police commissioner, so he couldn't risk any threats that could affect his campaign."

With the microphone still attached to her, she knows that Giancarlo could hear the whole conversation. She could already imagine how his face would contort with anger, knowing that Cassius was correct when he thought that another crime family could be involved.

Yuri walked over to the window and opened it. The cool breeze brushed against her face, providing a momentary respite from the things she just found out.

"Veronica's room is too cold. Make sure to adjust the temperature of the air conditioner as she could end up getting sick," she said before jumping off the window and disappearing into the night.

Favio and Valentin have been observing Giancarlo for quite some time now. Knowing that the Torricelli family is now involved, they're quite sure that the mafia boss is not going to sit around and do nothing.

"Quel bastardo ha un desiderio di morte," (That bastard has a death wish) Giancarlo said with an unmistakable edge to his voice.

His eyes narrowed, quivering in anger, revealing a fierce determination that sent shivers down Favio and Valentin's spines. They knew that Giancarlo's statement meant trouble.

"Yuri dovrebbe essere finito ormai. Prima ciassicureremo che sia alsicuro." (Yuri should be done by now. First, we'll make sure he's safe) Favio said, reminding Giancarlo that they still need to make sure that Yuri is safe despite that she has already achieved her goal.

The mention of the woman's name caused Giancarlo's expression to soften slightly, which the two men are thankful for. The mafia boss stood from his seat and walked towards the door of the establishment that Favio rented for them, so they would be near Yuri.

Once Giancarlo stepped on the street, the people around him immediately saw him. Whispers and hushed conversations spread through the crowd as they discreetly watched his every move, although Favio is certain that it was because of the boss's looks. Contrary to Yuri, who was wearing casual clothes to blend in, Giancarlo wore his usual black suit with a red silk tie, giving him an air of authority and intimidation. His presence alone commanded attention, and it was clear that he was not someone to be trifled with, despite the fact that he was just a visitor.

As he walked through the bustling streets, heads turned, and people quickly made way for him, as if instinctively recognizing his power and influence.

His men followed behind him, mirroring his confident stride and serious demeanor. Favio and Valentin were about to pull their guns from their pockets when a group of men approached them with a smug look on their faces, but Giancarlo had already pulled out his own gun, effortlessly silencing the group with a single stern glance.
