After breakfast and a quick bath, Giancarlo bid his goodbyes to her, as he had work to do, as he mentioned to her.
Yuri, not wanting to be judged as lazy or unproductive, decided to roam the streets of Palermo with Lorenzo and a few more men to ensure her safety. She only wore a simple dress and a pair of comfortable shoes, so she could move easily.
"Sicily has a lot more to offer, Signorina. The boss loved the waters, so I hope you brought your swimsuit," Lorenzo said with a mischievous grin.
Yuri chuckled, but that made her think that she did not remember seeing any swimsuits in her luggage.
"Thank you for reminding me of that, Lorenzo. I would actually appreciate it if you could bring me to a place where I can buy a swimsuit," Yuri replied, her tone hopeful.
Lorenzo nodded, his mischievous grin widening. "Of course, Signorina. I am not an expert in fashion, but I know a few shops nearby that might have what you're looking for. Do you want to go now or would you rather take a rest for a moment since we have been walking around for quite some time already?"
Yuri couldn't help but laugh at that: "Did Favio not mention what I used to do for a living before I became the woman of your boss?"
Lorenzo shrugged his shoulders. "I've heard a thing or two, but of course you are pregnant, Signorina. I heard that in your condition you are not supposed to exert yourself too much."
She just smiled reassuringly in return, saying, "Do not worry about me too much. Walking is actually good for me and the baby, plus the fresh air helps too. Now, shall we go to that place you mentioned?"
Lorenzo then nodded, and together, they walked towards an alley where some boutiques of different kinds were located.
A mannequin wearing a colorful swimsuit grabbed her attention, so she turned to Lorenzo.
"It may take a while for me to find something I like, so will it be alright if you are going to stay here outside?"
It's not that she doesn't want Lorenzo to come with her, but she wouldn't want to deal with the attention she would get if she entered the place where mobsters were guarding her, as it might cause a stir and attract unwanted attention.
"Are you sure about that, Signorina? It might be safer for you if I accompany you inside. I can keep a low profile and ensure your safety while you browse," Lorenzo offered, but she politely declined his offer.
"Please allow me this short time of being just by myself," she pleaded.
Lorenzo obviously does not want to let her out of his sight, but he understands her request, especially knowing what she's going through at the estate.
"If you need anything, do not hesitate to call me. I will just be here, and I won't move from this spot."
After saying her thanks, she walked towards the entrance of the boutique, where there were some customers like her browsing through the racks of clothes.
Aside from the beautiful swimsuit she saw from the window last time, she found more stylish and trendy outfits that caught her eye.
"Mi scusi. Posso aiutarla?" (Excuse me. Can I help you?) a woman approached her as she was admiring a stunning floral dress that has a partner swimsuit in the same pattern.
Yuri looked at the woman, and despite the fact that she did not understand what was said to her, the disgust on the woman's face was enough for her to sense that it was like the situation she also experienced when she was at a boutique in New York where a store employee made her feel unwelcome.
