After sending a message to Giancarlo and Favio about his plan, Cassius did not waste any time. After cleaning up his computer, which was now void of any recent searches, he took his car keys and headed out the door.

He knew he had to act quickly and discreetly to ensure the success of his plan. As he drove towards Captain Jones' residence, he couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and nervousness, wondering how everything would unfold.

He sighed in relief, seeing that the captain seemed to be still at home because his car was parked in the driveway. He parked his car a few houses down, not wanting to draw any attention to himself, and waited for any signs of Captain Jones.

After almost an hour, he saw him go out of the house and get into his car. His heart raced as he followed Captain Jones from a safe distance, making sure to maintain his cover. He knew that he couldn't afford to be seen, let alone cause Captain Jones to think that someone was tailing him. He had done countless surveillances before and even bugged a suspect's car, but going up against a fellow police officer was an entirely different level of risk.

Cassius almost hit the steering wheel, seeing the traffic ahead. He cursed under his breath, hoping that he wouldn't lose sight of Captain Jones in the chaos, but from where he was, he saw him turn into a narrow alleyway. Cassius quickly maneuvered his car, trying to keep a safe distance while navigating through the maze of streets. He turned on his hazard lights, signaling to other drivers that he was in pursuit.

As he followed Captain Jones into the dimly lit alley, he couldn't help but feel a surge of adrenaline mixed with uncertainty about what awaited him at the other end. The alley grew darker with each step, and his heart pounded in his chest as he wondered if he was walking into a trap.

But it was already too late for him to realize that as he saw multiple men from a distance aiming their guns at him. He hit the brakes and was about to make a hasty retreat when gunshots rang out. Bullets whizzed past him, narrowly missing his head. Instinctively, he drove behind a nearby dumpster, desperately seeking cover as chaos erupted around him.

Maybe he was so careless that he did not realize that the captain or perhaps any of his colleagues had been keeping an eye on him. By the look of the situation right now, it was a well-planned ambush, leaving him with little chance of escape.

He felt something hot and sticky on his forehead, and when he touched it, he realized that he was bleeding. He wasn't shot, but the impact of hitting the dumpster caused a gash on his head when he hit the steering wheel.

The men have stopped shooting, but he can see them walking in his direction. When he tried to open the door on his side of the car, he realized it was jammed shut.

Panic started to set in as he frantically searched for another way out, but the men were closing in on him quickly.

Cassius stopped pushing the door and decided to close his eyes to mutter a quick prayer, as he was already certain that he was already in his last moments.

He thought of his family and his son, whom he would not be able to see. And how he regretted hurting Yuri when she loved him unconditionally. He could've broken up with her in a more respectful and honest way, but he chose the easy way out by cheating on her. The guilt weighed heavily on his conscience as he desperately wished for a chance to make things right before it was too late.

The sound of footsteps grew louder, and Cassius braced himself for whatever was about to happen next. He closed his eyes and took a deep breath, just waiting for his death.

There were gunshots, followed by the sound of bodies hitting the ground. He opened his eyes and couldn't believe what he saw. Yuri, dressed in a black suit, had Giancarlo by her side. Both are holding guns as they continue to shoot at the approaching men.
