Her mother does not have a reaction to that, but after a moment, she lets out a heavy sigh. "That's quite the distance from here, hija. Is that something related to your work or is this about your father?"

Yuri contemplated whether to tell her the details, but she figured that instead of leaving her in the dark, it was much better to at least let her mother know about what was happening, so she started to tell her the details about Crisanto Domingo and how he was the last person his father talked to in the precinct before he died.

"Are you planning to kill him once you see him?"

She shrugged her shoulders at that. "I haven't decided yet," she replied, her voice tinged with uncertainty. "But I need to confront him to find out the truth about what really happened to dad. Maybe his fate will be determined based on the answer he is going to give me."

Deep down, she knew that taking a life wouldn't bring her father back, but it would give her comfort to know that she was able to make this world a less evil one by removing someone who had caused her family so much pain. She couldn't shake off the anger and resentment that had built up inside her, and confronting the person who could have the answers to her questions seemed like the only way to find closure.

She understood the weight of such a decision and knew that it would forever change her own life as well, but she doesn't really care about it anymore. She had already reached a point where the need for justice outweighed any personal consequences.

"Well, I know that no matter what I say, you will still do what you want, but I just want to remind you that I couldn't lose you too after your father. I know how important this is for you, and you will stop at nothing to get the justice he deserves, but you still have another parent here who is just worried about you."

Before Yuri could respond to that, she just found her eyes welling up with tears. She knew her mother's words came from a place of love and concern, but she couldn't let them hold her back. Taking a deep breath, she wiped away the tears and said, "I understand your worries, mom, so I will be safe. Once I get back, please cook my favorite, adobo. Mahal na mahal kita." (I love you so much)

Agatha pulled her in for a hug. "Mahal na mahal din kita, anak. Mag iingat ka." (I love you too so much. Take care of yourself)

The travel time from New York to Manila is approximately seventeen to eighteen hours, and given that the weather is in good condition, the flight may be shorter, which Yuri is hoping for because, contrary to other people who seem to enjoy being in an aircraft, she finds long flights quite exhausting, even though she noticed how luxurious Giancarlo's private plane is. She prefers shorter travel times as they allow her to reach her destination quickly and avoid jet lag.

"Favio told me that the place in Manila where Crisanto Domingo lives is one of the most dangerous places, not just in the city but in the entire country. Are you familiar with this place called Tondo?"

Yuri nodded her head at that. They used to live in a different area; however, she is aware of the reputation of Tondo, as his father used to tell her stories about how dangerous that place could be, although he has friends there. She knows that Tondo is notorious for its high crime rates and poverty levels, making it a challenging place to live.

"We did not live there, but my father used to know some people there. I have a godfather who lives there, but I am not quite sure if he is still alive or even there."

Giancarlo nodded at that. "It seems that part of the city also has a lot of drug lords, but unfortunately, I do not deal there, so my connections could only be limited. My men told me that when they surveyed the area, they were almost attacked."
