It was a dark pit of nothingness.

She was falling.

Falling with no way of knowing how far until she reached the bottom.

Was she falling up or down?

It was cold. Cold and empty.

Green emerald leaves surrounded her vision, bending the sunlight around 'em. Surreal shades of green danced around her. She used to hate the color green. Her eyes were that god-awful color. Everything she saw while running background checks or doing anything within her database was washed over with a green hue. Green was a reminder of her pain. A reminder of what she was, and what she wasn't.

But standing in the middle of the earth's emerald, sage, pine, light and dark unique colors painted onto the trees? She could feel her disdain for the color slowly disappearing.

If she were any other girl— one who'd grown up with a mom to tell her stories—maybe she'd have felt as if she'd stumbled into a fairy tale. A tale in which heroes and heroines won triumphantly over their enemies. One where happily ever afters occurred frequently. One where she could be free...

Buttercup pulled apart the last of the enchanted forest drapery to be met with rolling hills of green. A sky so blue it looked as if it were out of a painting. White clouds that look like cotton balls floated in the air. Birds chirped above, a small stream ran through the hills.

From her right, Bubbles sighed. "Wouldn't it be nice to live here? For eternity being surrounded by nothing?" She ran her hands through the emerald leaves of the bushes. "It's just so lovely."

"Problem, B." Blossom muttered. "We're on a mission and if we just disappear—"

"We die." Buttercup cut in.

"I'm well aware." Bubbles rolled her eyes.

"You sure? 'Cause you're constantly living in a cloud floating around in the air. Some make-believe-fantasy. Someone's gotta bring you back down to Earth every once in a while." Buttercup grumbled.

Bubbles eyes widened. "I am not living in some cloud! Just because I—"

"You what?" Buttercup gave her a pointed look. "Because you look for the good? Because you cant see the world for what it really is? Because—"

"Knock it off." Blossom warned. "Our mission'll be arriving soon. Don't give away our hiding place."

"She started it." Both girls muttered in unison, giving each-other a narrowed glare.

"And I'm finishing it. Now shut up and focus." Blossom rolled her eyes. She—
