Let the tears roll down my face—a silent plea. A begging for the Earthen fates to protect all things I hold dear. So let the tears roll down my face as I remember... why I'm here.
Bubbles slid down into her seat. Her hair bunching up in a way that was going to cause knots later on. She stared at the couch where her sisters lifeless body laid limp. She wasn't really lifeless, moreover she was lacking the quality of looking alive.
So lifeless Bubbles mocked herself.
Blossom had been quick to point out that all it would take to wake her up was a simple code word—sunrise. The more Bubbles thought about it, the angrier she became.
Who in their right mind thought they could force an unwanted shut down on her sister? WHO IN THEIR MIND THOUGHT IT OKAY TO HUNT DOWN SIX—NOW EIGHT—PEOPLE WHO HAVE DONE NOTHING BUT SERVE AND PROTECT—
"You look as if you're about to spontaneously combust." Boomer snickered.
"I am going to murder Bellum. And Him. And anyone else who comes in the way of me and my family." She said through gritted teeth.
"Glad to see your head is still screwed on straight." He reached down and curled a strand of her hair around his finger. "Buttercup was working with me on patience. On finding your 'mental calmness so you can succeed' or something." He said, adding air-quotes.
"How'd that work out?" Bubbles looked up at him and arched an eyebrow.
He frowned. "She punched me in the face. Bubbles's lips quirked up into a grin and she began to giggle. Which later turned into an all-out laughing fit. "Gee, thanks. Glad you find it funny." He rolled his eyes.
Bubbles wiped away the tears that fell down her face. She sniffled back another laugh. "I'm sorry, I just... I would have thought you'd of seen it coming by now."
"Y'know?" He sat down in a chair beside her. "She said something real similar."
"Oh good. You two are here." Brick said as he walked into the room. "Butch is getting the others."
"It's been a day an a half." Bubbles pouted.
"I'm aware." Brick's eyes narrowed. "You remind me of the time every five minutes. You are aware that it was her choice? That I didn't do anything?"
"It was not her choice. It was the only choice that fit the situation." Bubbles turned her head away, her nose stuck in the air.
Brick rolled his eyes. "I hate girls." He muttered under his breath.
"Girls hate you." Blossom said as she made her way into the room.
Brick smirked. "Afternoon to you too."
Following Blossom was Butch, Bell, and Blake. Boomers mood instantly fell. "Great," His jaw clenched. "You brought the—" Bubbles smacked him in the chest before he could finish talking.
"Be nice." She warned.
Boomer sighed. "We'll see."
"As you are all aware," Brick started. "We are under tight supervision now. Televised as terrorists. We have a plan to overthrow the government, but we cannot rush. Nor can we kill Bellum immediately. We are planning on locking her up—along with Him."
"Why can't we rush?" Bell asked in that sweet voice that made Boomer want to puke.
"Better question, why can't we kill Bellum?" Bubbles asked through gritted teeth.
"I was under the impression you weren't for violence?" Blake arched an eyebrow.
"Well I am now!" Bubbles shot.
