[ season two, episode five ]

JAY KEPT LOOKING at Amy from his desk. The rest of the team hadn't shown up yet, so it was just them and Nadia.

Amy could feel him looking at her. She looked up, and he averted his gaze. "What's up?"

Jay looked at her again. He shrugged. "Nothing."

She gave him a look- not believing him. "Jay?"

"I saw you and Spencer."

"Oh," Amy mumbled.

Jay nodded. "So, he's not just a guy?"

"Uh, not anymore. We went out- officially." Amy hated talking about her personal life at work.

Jay forced a smile. "I'm happy for you."

Amy smiled. "Thanks."

Just then, Erin walked in with a plate in her hand. She most likely didn't have time to eat breakfast at home. Nadia followed her to her desk.

"Hey, some guy from H.Q. called," Nadia told Erin. "Voight skipped a com stat meeting. I tried, but it went straight to voice mail."

"Weird. I'll try him." Erin pulled out her phone and called Voight. It went to voicemail again, which was weird.

"See?"

"I believed you." Erin put her phone in her jacket pocket. The rest of the team start showing up.

"Maybe he's sick," Nadia suggested.

"He's never sick, and he's never late." Erin looked over at Amy. "You mind coming with me?"

Amy shook her head. "Not at all." She grabbed her jacket and followed Erin out. Something was wrong.
