THE FIREFIGHTERS stood and watched as Kelly tried to get down the tagger, who was stuck. Melisa stood next to Hermann, who was complaining.

The tagger was scared but managed to get to safety just as the cops arrived. Unfortunately for them, it wasn't the cop they wanted.

They watched as Voight got out of his car. The detective made his way over to them.

"You got no reason to be here," the chief told Voight.

The two stood face to face. "I'm collecting gang intel, chief. Big new tag like that, gotta make sure it doesn't spark a turf war."

"You've seen it. Now leave."

"You might want to take a step back there. I don't want to charge you or one of your men with interfering with a police investigation."

Chief turned to his firefighters, who had been listening to their conversation. "Pack it up. We're out of here."

"Oh hey, Casey," Voight called out just as they were about to leave. "You've got your deposition tomorrow." He started off in their direction.

Kelly pulled Casey along with him. "Come on, let's go."

"Let me ask you, is that cute little fiancé of yours gonna be there too?" They stopped walking. "Because I gotta tell you, the other night when we were talking, she seemed kinda, I don't know, shut down. But by the end, she really started to open up."

Casey launched himself at the detective but was held back by the other firefighters. "Your day's coming," the lieutenant said before shouting, "your day's coming, Voight!"

Voight just stood there with a stupid grin on his face. He was amused by the situation. He looked over at Melisa, who was being ushered back by Hermann. "You really think you've won?"

Melisa looked at the detective with a slight glare on her face. She didn't answer the question, ignoring it altogether. "How's your son doing?" She watched as his grin disappeared. "I heard prison can be a bitch, especially when your father is a cop."

With that, Melisa turned and left with the rest of them. She just couldn't handle looking at him anymore. Hermann walked next to her, feeling somewhat proud.

"NOT TO SOUND like my father-in-law, but this is what's wrong with America," Hermann stated. They sat and looked at the screen. Graffiti artwork.
