December had taken the castle by storm decking the halls in Christmas decorations. The great hall had many large Christmas trees and students were talking excitedly about their plans for the holidays.

Victoria had collected about five unopened ministry letters. They were hints to finding her soulmates, but she had found herself uninterested until recently. Lily Evans and the blonde had been seeing each other for a while now but the ginger had made no effort to make things official between the two.

What had piqued the girl's interest in her soulmate letters had been Lily's recent attempts at avoiding her. The red head had started to spend less and less time with Victoria. That left her worried that she was no longer interested. She wasn't wrong either as she walked into the library to meet Remus for their potions project, she found Lily Evans locking lips with a black-haired girl.

As if things couldn't get worse Sirius who was sat with Remus and James a few tables away had seen the devastated looking girl staring at the red head. With a smirk plastered on his face the boy moved towards the girl looking between her and the scene in front of her.

"You didn't really think she fancied you, did you?" Sirius asked mockingly. His voice was low as he stood behind her lowering his lips to her ear. She could feel his warm breath brushing her skin.

"Shut up Black." She mumbled as she moved to turn around. She was quickly stopped when Sirius placed his hands firmly on her hips forcing her to look at the red head and the girl Victoria assumed was her soulmate.

"Tell me Hearts, did you think Evans would choose you over her soulmate?" He said with a mocking chuckle. "I mean come on Hearts. Mary Mcdonald? There's no way you can compete with that. Do you see her?" He asked with venom dripping from his tongue as he spoke to the girl.

Victoria could feel the tears welling in her eyes as he continued to whisper things about her being unlovable. She knew Lily was losing interest. She had simply wanted the girl to be honest with her about it but instead this was how she found out. As if finding Lily Evans kissing another girl wasn't bad enough Sirius found it the perfect opportunity to tell her how ugly, annoying, and unlovable she was. Shaking Sirius's hands off of her she turned around to look at him tears starting to spill from her eyes as she looked at the grey eyed boy.

"You think I don't know all of this already Black?" She spoke through gritted teeth. "As if you don't tell me at every possible chance, that I'm unlovable and disgusting. Trust me you aren't the only one who hates me. Nothing you could possibly say would be anything worse than what I've told myself." He looked down into the same blue green eyes that had put him in a trance weeks ago. Even with tears in them they were pretty and so he gave her a mocking smirk in an attempt to cover up the guilt that was pooling in the bottom of his stomach.

"It seems you've been forgetting lately Hearts. Thought you might have needed a reminder." He shrugged still flashing that annoying smirk that made her skin crawl. Victoria was tired of trying to lay low and be the bigger person. She was tired of crying and being hurt by the marauders and with that; she had made her decision.

She stepped closer to him bringing her face close to his. She had to look up at the tall boy, but she didn't care she wanted to make sure he heard every single word that fell from her lips. Sirius felt frozen under her gaze and deep down his gut was twisting and his heart racing as she stepped close to him. He could feel her breath fanning his face as she looked up at him an innocent but dark look in her eyes. Her perfume smelt comforting initially but as she started to speak, he couldn't help but feel like he was suffocating under the smell of honey and lavender.

"You are just like your family Sirius Black. I hope your parents are proud of the good little lap dog you've become. You may wear red but all I see is green." She said in a soft whisper barely audible. Only Sirius could hear what she had said and as the words tumbled from her lips it felt like a knife had been stabbed into his chest and twisted around. He went pale and the breath caught in his throat he felt disgusted not only with the situation but himself.

Victoria stepped away from Sirius with a blank look on her face. She could hear the sound of footsteps coming up behind her.

"Oi, Padfoot are you good? You look like you've seen a ghost." James said looking between the two with a concerned look on his face. He noticed the tear stains on Victorias cheeks but didn't say a word. Remus stood quietly trying to comfort Sirius.

James and Victoria had continued to meet up in the Astronomy tower after curfew multiple times a week but neither of them had attempted to bring the blooming friendship into the light of day. Victoria assumed it was because he was ashamed or embarrassed about the idea of being her friend.

"He's fine, Black here just can't handle the truth." Victoria said with a sneer looking Sirius up and down. The tall confident boy felt small under her gaze and couldn't help but feel embarrassed as well. Victoria quickly turned to James making eye contact with the boy. James wasn't used to that. Typically, the girl avoided eye contact and confrontation all together, so this was surprising to the boy.

"Keep your bitch under control Potter before I have to put him down." she said giving the boy a blank stare. She quickly shoved her way between the boys and exited the library leaving one boy hurt and two staring at her in shock.

Making her way back to the Ravenclaw common room she found her friends and Peter all siting on the couch talking or reading. She quickly plopped onto a cushion next to Alex who sent her a glare for shaking to couch. She rolled her eyes in response when Peter spoke up.

"Thought you were studying with Remus till 7?" Peter asked giving her a confused look as he checked his watch to see it was only 6:00. The girl groaned sitting up straight.

"You friends are twats AND I saw Lily Evans snogging Mary Mcdonald." She said angrily crossing her arms in front of her. Her friend's heads whipped up immediately and Peter's eyes were the size of dinner plates.

"Evans and Mcdonald?" Peter said in a disbelieving whisper yell.

"No, it was Jesus and Merlin." Renee said sarcastically hitting him in the chest with the back of her hand. "OF COURSE EVANS AND MCDONALD!" Peter rubbed his chest scowling lightly at the girl.

"Bloody Hell Renee. Obviously, I knew it was Evans and McDonald I was just in shock!" The boy responded defensively. Alex hit them both in the back of the head lightly, redirecting their attention.

"Shut the hell up." He told them turning back to Victoria with an eager look telling her to give him all the details.

"I am not repeating that whole thing just come here. Hold hands real quick I'll show you." She said sighing. Alex and May squealed excitedly each sitting on either side of the blonde. Each grabbed a hand. Renee grabbed Alex's hand while Peter stayed where he was looking at them confused and nervous.

"Come on just grab May and I's hands you'll understand in a minute." Renee said with a smile offering her hand to Peter who cautiously took a seat between the two girls grabbing their hands with his own.

Victoria closed her eyes and the five of them suddenly were sitting in the library. Well not exactly the library but it looked like it. Victoria opened her eyes and a short distance away from them you could see Victoria standing with Sirius behind her. The entire event from earlier that evening played out in front of them. Victoria reliving the situation and her four friends now witnessing it.

Peter was the most confused and shocked of them all as he heard every word said. As he watched every action of the students around them. He didn't understand the situation and what was going on but as he heard Sirius speak to Victoria, he could feel his blood boil and his heart break. Him and Victoria weren't close, they were barely friends, but he thought the girl was incredibly kind and sweet. He didn't think she deserved the torment his friends had put her through.

As the situation ended the scene seemed to fade away and they were back in the Ravenclaw common room. Alex, May and Renee looked at the girl with sad eyes knowing how much she was probably hurting while Peter looked at her in complete shock. He knew she was probably hurting but, regardless, what he had just witness stunned him.

"It's called shifting, certain people are able to tap into a different source of magic and manipulate the elements around them but they're also able to manipulate a person's senses." Renee explained in a hushed whisper as Alex and May gushed over Victoria's newfound ability to stand up to her bullies.
