Vox seems both panicked and angry. Both of his comrades are gone, and he seems to be struggling with what his next move should be. He's breathing heavily, holding his head as his eyes move rapidly around the room. I don't feel bad for him. I don't know what kind of person this makes me, but if I see him destroyed, I won't be very distraught about it.
I look over at my hand and watch my fingers slowly begin to move. It's not much, but I'm glad to know whatever is in my system seems to be working its way out. Vox hasn't seemed to notice that I'm slowly gaining mobility, which is good.
Vox goes back and forth between looking at me and looking through the broken window. It's like he's deciding if he can leave me here alone or not. From his viewpoint, I should be pretty harmless. He must have thought the same thing. I see his entire body become engulfed in static electricity before he jumps through the broken window. Most likely to confront Alastor head on.
There's not much I can do from where I am. I'm able to wiggle my fingers a little easier with every second. But my recovery isn't moving fast enough for my liking.
As I try to regain my mobility, I notice those small creatures that Alastor manifested earlier are making their way into the room. There's three of them that walk over to me, tilting their heads as if not sure what to do. They look a bit mad and one looks like it has blood on its face.
They slowly walk closer to me. If I didn't know that they were created by Alastor, I would be a bit worried. But knowing where they came from, I can't imagine they are planning to do me any harm.
One makes contact with my hand before dissolving. It looks like somehow the small creature is being absorbed into my skin. It doesn't hurt. Somehow, I feel a little more powerful.
The other two creatures follow suit. They make contact with my hand and then become absorbed into my skin. I wiggle my fingers a bit, then move my hand. My arm shortly follows. It seems I have full mobility again.
I pull myself up off the floor and take a deep breath, looking at both of my hands, flipping them over a few times. I feel a little different, but I look the same.
I try to run over to the broken window of the building to see what's happening between Alastor and Vox, but these stupid heels are difficult to maneuver in. I get frustrated and kick them off, making my way over to the window. Alastor still looks like a demonic giant, swinging at Vox with the tentacles that are coming from his back. While Vox, being much smaller, is dodging using any electrical cable he can find and stunning Alastor with electrical volts. I don't think Alastor is losing, but he's having trouble dodging these sneak attacks.
I look down at the ground. From where I'm standing, I'm still a good few floors from reaching the ground. I wonder though, with the power Alastor has just gifted me, if I might be able to survive the jump. I know it's a bit of a risk, but I feel... different. I don't know how to explain it. I really think I'm going to be fine.
I trust my instincts. I jump from the window, feeling the wind rush by me as I land on the ground. Nothing broken, perfectly fine. Am I even human anymore? A question for later.
I'm not sure yet how I can help Alastor. I watch the two of them go back and forth for a little while, seeing if I can find any strategy in Vox's attacks. All I notice is that if he feels threatened, he hides in the scattered cables before appearing in a new spot.
I look at my hands and think of the power I possess. My hand puts off a gold glow. Good, not only am I mobile, but I'm able to help in this fight as well! But how can I best help?
I continue to watch and can see that Alastor is getting frustrated with Vox constantly hiding and reemerging from cables. I wonder if I can use my power to push him out. I look at one cable near me, place my hand on it, and think about pushing a current through the cable and clearing anything out of it. I watch the same gold tint I see in my hands travel through the cable. As it continues to travel, it extends through multiple more cables. Eventually this glow goes through all cables that are nearby, even one that Vox recently escaped into. Once my power reaches Vox, he's pushed back out and into the open.
"What the-?" Vox seems confused and vulnerable. He looks around until he notices me, completely mobile and helping Alastor to the best of my abilities. This doesn't sit well with him.
Vox points his finger in my direction, and I can see the lightning like electrical spear heading in my direction. Before I can even figure out how to shield myself, Alastor blocks it with his giant hand. I'm glad he's caught on.
Vox tries to use this distraction to travel through cables again, but I push my power through the cords again to force him back out. He's soon going to find out that he can no longer hide.
Alastor holds his giant hand open in front of me. It takes me a second to realize he wants me to climb aboard for a ride. Once I catch on, I step up and hold onto the staff that's embedded into his hand as he lifts me up. The staff is right in front of me. I wonder if Vox would be easily distracted by me.
"I lose control,
When you're not next to me,
I'm falling apart right in front of you, can't you see?,
I lose control,
When you're not next to me, mm-hmm,
Yeah, you're breaking my heart, baby,
You make a mess of me, yeah,"
I sing the same lyrics I sang when I was in the clutches of the V's, but it only takes one verse for Vox to latch on. I easily have him under my control and Alastor can see that too.
Alastor grabs Vox with his other hand and lifts him up. Vox is still in a daze, gold tinted eyes just waiting for me to give him a command. Alastor holds Vox up close to me, still in the safety of his grip just in case. I don't worry though; I feel confident that I have Vox under my manipulation.
It takes some extra effort of my strength, but I pull Alastor's staff out of his hand so that I have free range to use it. I walk a bit closer to Vox, looking closely at his stupid face. I twirl the staff once, holding it with both hands and then jam the end of the staff straight through Vox's head. I watch as he twitches and glitches, his entire body convulsing a bit before Vox is just limp in Alastor's grip.
Now that Vox is taken care of, we've done it. Every single V has been exterminated. I don't feel concerned or insane about the outcome of this like I probably should. These losses don't feel like anything to me.
I'm not sure I'm even human anymore.
