Of course she would be here. She was always an angel on earth. Why didn't I think this through? What do I say to her after all of this time?
I fly lower so I can see her face to face. I can feel the tears begin to form in the corner of my eyes. I put my hands out and she holds them. "You look healthy. It's a nice change to see." I mention to her.
She laughs a little. "I've never felt better." Her grip tightens on my hands. "I'm very happy to see you. I've been watching you for some time. They even let me watch you once we've figured out where you were." Well, that's not nerve racking. She's still smiling though.
"You don't sound disappointed." I state, a bit curious. "How can you not be upset by the choices I've made?"
She shook her head in disagreement. "I'm not disappointed in you." She begins, she looks around the courtroom and leans in closer to me. Her smile looks a little mischievous. She still hasn't let go of my hands. "Don't tell them, but I think you need to do what's going to internally make you happy."
"Wait... what?" I may have said that a little loudly. I have to tone it down. "My mom... is encouraging me... to fight to go back to Hell?" I question. I give her a little smirk. "Mom, you mischievous angel." I joke with her.
She laughs a little, still holding my hands. "Like I said, I've been watching you for some time. I know the life you lived before." She looks away for a moment before looking back at me. "You've become so strong, and I don't just mean the crazy powers you had when you were there. I mean your will, your determination, your resilience. You've grown up so much. I know I'm going to say this, and absolutely no one in this room is going to agree with me, but I think you are good for him, and I think he is good for you."
That is surprising to me. I don't think my mom is giving the argument Emily or Sera expected. "Seriously?" I ask her.
"Seriously!" She agrees. "He's helped you come out of your shell and values your opinion. You've helped him calm down a bit and find something that he cares about more than ruling Hell. These might be important things to bring up." She winks at me. "Plus, when he died, he also embodied a deer. So, you know, he can't be all bad." She points to one of her animalistic ears, still a big smile on her face.
We both laugh a little. I'm sure the courtroom is confused and concerned about how the conversation is going at this point. I sigh, thankful for this moment. "I don't know how I can thank you for all of your love and support." I tell her.
She pulls me into a hug. One of those deep hugs that I didn't realize I needed until now. I want to cherish every second. "I'll be watching over you, honey. I love you very much."
"I love you too, mom." I whisper to her.
We pull away from each other and she still has a warm smile. "Now, why don't you sing for me one time? Before you leave?" She winks again. "Let's see what power you may have brought with you, yeah?" She is a smart lady.
I nod at her and look back at Sera and Emily. I feel so determined.
"How do you feel about staying in Heaving knowing your mom is here?" Emily asks me with a big smile. I think she expects a different outcome.
"A bit concerned." I answer, still flapping the new angel wings and pushing myself away to be in the middle of the room. "I'd hate for her to... fall into the wrong hands." I say with a smirk. I hold my right hand in front of me and see that it's glowing green. Good, I still have some of Alastor's demonic power flowing through me. That didn't die when I did. "Tell me, what happens when an angel makes a deal with a demon?" I ask with a laugh. Let's see if I still have some pull.
((Let's See A Smile - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPAVXQNvcH0))
"Have you ever wanted something you can't buy because your money's neither lost nor found?,
Make a deal with anybody who would listen 'cause your world is turning upside down,
I got the feedback, what you lack is off track give me two seconds to feed that blend Cognac,
I'm so much more than a friend,"
As the lyrics flow through me and I make my way around the courtroom I'm gaining the interest of the angels around the room. They're glued to my every move and waiting for more. Emily and Sera seem to be immune to my abilities here, but that's fine by me. It's just a display. I just want them to be upset and send me away. As I hold my hand out that green glow travels the room and angels are holding their hands out to me, wanting my attention.
"Say goodbye to the person you had become,
Shake my hand you have business still left undone,
Say goodbye to the person you had become,
Let's see a smile."
I fly closer to one of the angels that's holding out their hand. I put my hand out, only inches away from shaking hands with them. I wonder what a deal would look like between us.
"Stop!" Sera yells, getting my attention. I look up at her and she looks angry. I swear I see eyes in her hair and outfit. How is that possible? "How do you still have demonic power?" She asks.
I pull my hand back, but angels around the room are still reaching out for me. I shrug. "Maybe because I'm not meant to be an angel, ever thought of that?" I fly back up to Sera, she still looks angry. I should tread carefully. She could probably destroy me if she really wanted.
"Have you ever thought that I might be more of a threat to you here? You can't get rid of my power." I hold my hands behind my back, but don't yet release my hold on those I have in the room. I tried really hard to avoid controlling my mom. It seems like it worked, but she's also not going to stop me. She's secretly cheering me on from the sidelines, just trying not to get caught in the crosshairs.
"Have you even considered that by sending me back to Hell, I could help you all make sure Alastor doesn't do anything insane? Keep him in check, if you will?" I don't know if I would put it that far, but if that's what they need to hear, then sure.
"Listen to her Sera!" I hear a familiar voice from below me. How on Earth did she get here? And so quickly at that! Lilith looks much smaller when I'm flying so high, but she's standing on the ground looking up at us. "If she stays here, the Radio Demon's rampage will be never ending. I don't think anyone in Heave nor Hell is safe."
