"We gave Rick's way a chance. Now It's time to go see Negan and Grace."

The Saviors left the next morning.

Sami went to Hilltop.

"Danny wants to come with me." Maggie told Sami, as she packed her backpack, putting the teddy Sami had given her in, as they stood by the blacksmiths. "I don't know if he should."

Sami shrugged. "Me neither. I guess it's up to him, though. He's older, and you've always protected him. If she tries anything . . . I'd want you with him, you know?"

She nodded. "I won't let her do anything. But . . . I was thinking he might want to . . . say some stuff."

"Yeah. Yeah, I know. I'd prefer for him to just leave her, but . . . Shitty Mothers are really really confusing."

"He deserves a chance to see if this'll work." Maggie put a crowbar into the bag.

Sami nodded.

"Maggie!" Jesus walked over, then surprised to see Sami. "Sami. Didn't realize you two were back from the camp."

"Just got here a few hours ago." Sami turned, leaning on the table behind him.

"Another letter from Georgie just came in. I was going to put it on your desk, but here your are."

"Would you put it in the drawer on my desk with the others? I'll read it later." She shut the backpack, putting it on her shoulders.

"Sure." Jesus looked at her bag. "You heading back out already?"

"We just came for a few things."

"A crowbar being one of them?"

Maggie looked at him. "Danny's coming with me. You're good at running the place. I need you to keep doing it."

"We should go." Sami said, grabbing his own bag and heading to the gate.

"Right. Some place other than the camp." Jesus and Maggie followed him.

"We've already talked about this, Jesus." Sami glanced at him. "It's getting too much. We need to fix things."

"Like Maggie fixed things with Gregory? Only, we never talked about that."

Maggie stopped, making the others do the same. "I'm not asking for you to agree with me."

"There was a time I did." Jesus sighed. "Look, Negan and Grace deserved to die, when it ended. Rick was wrong because he made a call that wasn't his to make. I just want to make sure that you two aren't wrong in the same way that he was. I want you two to be sure."

"I am." Sami didn't hesitate, walking over to the horses Danny was by.

Sami didn't even get to check on things at the camp, Rick coming up to him almost instantly.

"Sami, you gotta get to Alexandria. Maggie's on her way there to do somethin' she might regret."

Sami looked at him for a moment. "I don't wanna go. I wanted to see Rosita."

Rick looked at him.

He sighed. "Fine, jump on Poseidon. He's  sweet thing, he won't buck."

With a sigh, Rick climbed up onto the back of the horse, who did in fact buck, making Sami laugh.

"I honestly didn't think he would." Sami laughed, petting Poseidon's neck. "you're okay, bud."

Sami would've brought Rick to Alexandria and delt with it there, but Poseidon was reaching his breaking point. He'd been travelling too much, too far. He was exhausted.
