Grace picked up on what was happening pretty quickly.

Sami's people were smart. They'd tried to get the walkers away with the music, and the Whisperers broke it. Then, they picked them off, one by one from the herd. Now? Grace wasn't sure, but she came up with an idea, and walked, hoping Daryl Dixon wouldn't appear and put a knife in her skull.

Grace continued towards the cliff. That was their plan, wasn't it? To lead the walkers off the cliff? She hoped so. That was the way they had been bringing the wagon.

So, that was where she lead the walkers.

It was a long trek, but the walkers followed her faithfully. She didn't even know how she did it. She just walked, and they followed. It had been one of the reasons why Beta preferred her over Negan.

The cliff wasn't reached until morning. She remembered hearing about the cliff. That Rachel and Daryl had been brought here, just before they found Sami. That the herd used to be down there.

As she stood a meter or so from the edge, looking at the sunrise, the walkers, who just stumbled past her, and right down the cliff to their deaths in the rocky water below.

Grace stood, through the walkers were slowly pushing her forward as they hit into her. The sun was rising, far ahead of her, over empty fields along the mountains.  She felt so dirty. So tired. She'd been in the herd so long, she wondered if the air would feel empty for the days after, if she survived.

Would this be enough?

She wasn't looking for forgiveness. Just a chance. Would Sami or Danny look at her, now? They didn't need to be thankful. They didn't need to be grateful. She just wanted them to look at her. Maybe talk. Just let her try to fix things. They were different before. So was she. She wanted to learn to be good like her sons. She wanted to be able to just watch them do good. Help them.

Please, Lord, let this be enough. Let this be it. Let them know how sorry I am. Give me a chance to find a way to fix it.

She hardly registered the young girl that grabbed her arm and pulled her down behind a rock, so the walkers wouldn't push her off the edge. She thought she recognized her, but wasn't sure where from. Then it hit her.

Lydia.

People regrouped in the woods. Sami managed to find Rosita and Coco, the latter of which were asleep. If Rosita hadn't been so tired, he suspected she probably would've killed him for almost getting himself killed. But she hadn't slept, so she just glared at him and fell asleep on his shoulder.

It was later that Judith wanted to meet Maggie, but didn't want to go on her own, and Rosita let Sami take Coco to meet her, too. He had a strange giddiness in his stomach, telling his best friend he was a Papa.

Maggie was crouched down, speaking to Gracie when she saw them. Her eyes fell on Judith, first.

Sami stood back as they hugged, speaking quietly, as if not to disturb the strange silence of the woods.

After she stood up, Maggie smiled almost sympathetically at Sami.

"Still on babysitting duty?" She questioned.

He shook his head. "I don't have time anymore."

He saw it click in her mind, as she actually looked at the baby in his arms.
