"So, you have Eugene?" Princess asked.

Sami nodded, rocking Coco a little on his hip. "Yeah. They're coming up with a plan, I'm babysitting, we'll be gone by sunrise."

He'd gone to Ezekiel to fill him in on everything in his makeshift clinic at the petting zoo, and found Princess, one of Eugene and Danny's friends who got them here, wondering if Eugene was okay, and so filled her in too.

"Okay. Okay. That's good." She spoke, as Ezekiel hurried around them, cleaning up his things. "Then he'll be out in the world, he'll hide for a bit until the Commonwealth gets bored. We'll meet up with him . . . you, me, Yumiko, Daniel. Like it was. The four of us on the road again."

Ezekiel stopped, looking at her. "Princess, you know I'm not leaving."

"Even after what they want to do to Eugene? Crazy shit is happening, man!"

"All the more reason to stay. He and Max started something, showed the truth. People want change. What better time to fight for it than when the powers that be are frightened?"

"'Powers that be'-" Sami shook his head, like a dog shaking water from it coat, which made Coco laugh. "Sorry, English isn't working apparently, what the shit?"

"See? He's on my side." Princess said. "Maybe we don't feel like fighting. Maybe this place looks all nice and wants us to think they're cool, but really, underneath, it sucks. Maybe they're not worth holding onto."

Sami glanced at Ezekiel. "Am I missing something?"

"You mean Mercer?" He asked Princess, and she nodded.

"I thought it he was a good guy, but . . . I've known a lot of guys that turned out to not be."

Sami thought for a moment. "The world isn't divided into good and bad men, Princess. You got . . . people who do good things for bad reasons. People who do good things for bad reasons. People who aren't entirely good, or entirely bad, just . . . people, I guess. Mercer's sisters on the line. His whole life has been following orders. Maybe this - this change that Ezekiel  and Max and all are trying to bring - maybe that's what he needs. A punch in the face to tell him he's doing things wrong. But . . . maybe it doesn't need to be you. You need to think about what you want, what's good for you, and just . . . go."

She nodded. "So . . . maybe this time, I deserve more than just the best of a bad situation."

"Yeah. You can come with us." Sami walked over to her, and wiped a stray tear on her cheek. "I'll take you to Hilltop, so you can be with Danny."

She nodded, slowly. "Don't know you, man, but you're alright."

Ezekiel chuckled. "Sami's one of the best. And I'm here - if you need me."

"Come on. We'll get you home, get you packed." Sami said, hand on Princess's shoulder.

She nodded again. "Yeah. Yeah, I got some cool shit I gotta bring."

He walked her home, Coco falling asleep on his shoulder, and he offered to help her pack. She said no, but then kept talking the entire time she was packing up her things, which made him stay at the door frame, Coco still sleeping.

After a few hours, he told her where and when to meet them, and made his way back to his apartment, putting Coco down to sleep, and making Coffee for himself, trying to keep himself up.

Rosita came home with tears running down her face. But she didn't cry.

"Eugene's staying." She told Sami, as she buried her face in his shoulder. "He's turning himself in. Says he can't leave Max."

"We'll something out. Once Coco's safe, and the others, I can come back or something."

She shook her head, holding him tighter, and Sami remembered being on the road, years ago, when they found out Eugene was lying about having a cure for the walkers. Abraham, Maggie, Glenn, Sami, Danny, Rosita, Eugene, Tara. He hadn't thought about that small group, that trip in a long time. Strange it came to mind now. It felt like he and Rosita were all that were left.

"We always have a bit of time when things get easier." He said, kissing the top of her head. "We'll get there, alright?"

She nodded, and pulled away, wiping her eye. "Yeah. It's just hard getting there."

"Yeah. Fucking sucks." He sat on the edge of the bed, and glanced at the window. "Ever wonder what everyone would think of this?"

"Abraham would hate it. Not enough bars."

He chuckled. "Yeah. I keep thinking of Carl and Lori. They'd of loved it here. Hershel, too. Papa would hate it. He hated Americans."

She sniggered, sniffing as she placed a necklace from Eugene to Coco in a bag. "Why?"

"Probably because of my Madre. She's . . . she's American, isn't she?"

"Dunno."

"Coco's gonna have an aunt or uncle that's younger than her."

Rosita sighed, looking at him. "It'll get easier."

"Yep."

"Always does. Even just for a little bit." She pushed some of his hair behind his ear. "I always know things get better when you cut your hair."

He chuckled, taking her hand and turning his head to kiss the inside of her wrist. "I love you."

They heard the door open, and jumped a little.

"Everyone ready?" Rosita questioned, grabbing her bag.

"I got someone to add to the mix." Sami stood, and walked into the kitchen. "She's s-"

He ducked as a fist flew at the side of his head, managing to dodge it, but someone kicked him in the stomach, knocking him back.

He heard Rosita behind him, also being attacked by these people in black, and grabbed a plate from the table, slamming it into one of the men's heads, knocking him to the ground, but as Sami turned to check on Rosita, he saw a man holding her back, up off the ground.

In his distraction, he didn't see the third man behind him, who slammed him into the marble table, hard. And he went limp on the ground, not hearing Rosita yelling for him to get up.
