Madeline's POV

I walked out of the changing room following behind leah, i could see she was speeding up. I ran up to her and yanked her shirt making her stop. Leah turned around and looked at me. I didn't know what to say, i felt bad the look on her face was filled with hurt. Leah looked so damaged, but so was I. This was the girl i had loved, i still loved her but everything she had done to me made me rethink everything.

It made me rethink if she actually loved me, the day she called me that fucking name i started to think she maybe isn't over them. Both Jordan and Hailey seemed like people she fell in love with. But then again, they both ended badly. What if i was the same? What would make me any different than both of them?

"Leah..." i said. "What are you upset about?"

"I'm upset about- the fact that you let another girl touch you..." leah furrowed her eyebrows. "I'm the one that-"

"Leah we were broken up for fucks sake....if we were together that would've been a different story." I was tired of this, leah didn't have a right to get upset with me. "You know i'm fucking tired of this okay...i didn't want to talk to you for this reason.." i shook my head. "Jessie and I are just friends." i admitted. We were friends, at least for now.

"See it from my point of view, you're being friendly with a girl who just beat us." leah said. "I know you're still new and not from here but this isn't just something that's okay."

"Leah, i know it's not that serious...and you're not upset for that reason." i looked down the hall to make sure nobody was coming. I turned to leah, "Whatever happened in there..i don't want it to happen again. Got that?".

"You don't mean that.." leah shook her head.

"See it from my point of view leah. I try to let you to let me in to how you're feeling and you basically tell me to fuck off and then call me another girls name." i folded my arms. "Not just any girl, some girl you had feelings for that isn't me." i looked at leah, she had this look of regret on her face. I don't care if she felt guilty, that's exactly what i needed her to feel. "I don't want to be a stop along the way, i want to be a destination..and if you can't see that, then we can't be together." i said.

"Madeline.." leah whispered.

"If i'm just gonna be another one of them...i don't want any part of you Leah." i said.

"You're not one of them Madeline." leah shook her head quickly.

"Then why haven't you done anything to prove that to me..."

"I don't know how to prove it to you Madeline..."

"Then let me go Leah..."

"I can't do that."

"And why not?"

Leah shook her head and looked like she was stuck in deciding what words to use.

I looked back at the girls walking down the hall. I swallowed the feeling of breaking down in front of her and walked past her to go into the changing room again. I quickly changed and didn't even bother changing my facial expressions, we had lost anyway so i didn't think anyone would question it.
