Madeline's POV

Leah paused for a second and looked away. "You just are okay?...Come on- I think i heard Jacob downstairs.." she stood up.

"Leah..." i breathed out looking up at her.

"Hey....listen to me.." leah bent down and looked me in the eyes. "I didn't want to be with you because of you're age. I love you, age had nothing to do with it...i know you and you're probably overthinking and thinking something is going to happen between me and this girl." leah shook her head. "But i can assure you, nothing is going on or is going to happen. Ever." leah said.

"Mm..." i whined. "I love you."i pull her face towards mine and placed my lips over hers. "I hate feeling like this..." i said after pulling away. 

"Like what?" leah asked.

"Jealous."

"It's not a good feeling is it?" leah smiled.

"No.." i shook my head and stood up.

It was Friday, we just got done with training. It was getting easier and easier coming back to the regular schedule before the whole ankle thing happened. I had been with Kyra, Beth and Steph for most of training. I was starting to feel more social everyday i was forced to talk to people. I wanted to be nice and give lizzie a good welcome to the team, she was just a year younger than me after all. 

Who knows? Maybe we could be friends.

"Hey Lizzie..." i said walking up to her on the pitch, we were still out there having our final drink of water.

"Hey...." lizzie snapped her fingers. "Madeline right?" 

"Yeah, Madeline." i said. "I just wanted to give you a proper welcome...to the team." 

"Oh, well thank you- it's an honor to be playing here..you guys are amazing.." lizzie said with a genuine smile on her face.

"Oh, you deserve to be here just as much as we do.." i smiled. "Does it feel different than playing with the academy?" i asked lizzie. 

"Well, yeah there's a different kind of pressure on me when I play with them...compared to people my age you know." lizzie nodded and took a sip of water. I nodded and smiled, i knew how she felt. "I mean Katie and Viv are younger than me so they must have it a bit worse but leah has been a great help...she's made us feel safe and comfortable here." lizzie said. 

I smiled hearing the kind words about leah coming out lizzie's mouth. I couldn't help but think how leah was with me when i first joined arsenal, it wasn't that long ago so i could remember it clearly. I remember how cold and standoffish she was towards me. Everything was different now obviously.

"I'm glad she's been a big help, and i'm so happy you feel safe and comfortable-" 

"Yeah, leah's just so helpful- especially with the training...i've heard she doesn't want to do coaching after she retires but she wouldn't be too bad at it if i do say so myself." lizzie smiled at me.
