Madeline's POV

I got into leah's car and saw her go around to her side of the car, i had missed this so much. Being in her passenger seat, sitting next to her and watching her drive. I took a deep breath in and saw leah get into the car, she smiled as she put the seatbelt on herself.

"You know i can take you to my house instead?" leah asked me.

I looked over at her and furrowed my eyebrows a bit. "We said my house.." i smiled.

"I know- i'm not trying to do anything with you- i mean i would want to-" leah took a deep breath in and blinked at me. "What i'm saying is, there are no other intentions- i just want you to sleep somewhere safe tonight..and your house is farther...and my house is only a few minutes away." leah smiled at me.

I nodded. "We have a match tomorrow you know..." i shrugged. "I don't want to be late.."

"You won't be late, we'll wake up and i can drop you off at your house way before the match even starts." leah reassured me.

I nodded and looked at her. "Okay then..your house." i smiled and looked out the window.

Leah started driving, the whole car was silent.

"You know i can also drop you off at the stadium..."

"I'd love that...thank you." i smiled at leah.

After a very short car ride we had parked in front of her house, we got off and i followed leah to the front door. I waited for her to unlock the door and walked in right after she did. I took my jacket off and set it down on the couch. I looked around and looked back at leah, she walked over to me and smiled.

"Uh...you can...sleep in my bed if you want?" leah raised her eyebrows.

"Nice try...i can stay in the guest bedroom." i smiled.

"It was worth the try." leah nodded. "I'm gonna go get some extra blankets for you..the rooms right down the hallway" leah pointed to the bedroom.

"Thank you.." i smiled and walked into the room. I sat on the edge of the bed and began to untie my shoes and take them off. I couldn't stop thinking of the phone call i had with my mom. I loved her, i really did. She's the reason i'm even alive but there was time where i questioned her intentions. Sometimes stuff she said to me sounded so...mean?

I knew she had a perfect idea of how my life was gonna play out. In her mind i was gonna stay in Texas, go to college, stay with my ex boyfriend and start a family, have a different kind of job. I didn't want that traditional lifestyle though, i wanted to do what i loved and that was football. If i did get called up to the uswnt this international break, i didn't know what i would say to my parents. I would have to at least visit them once, i didn't even know where i was staying it all depended where we would be playing.

Leah was also on my mind, leah and my mom was just all i was thinking about at the moment. I wanted to tell my mom how i had fallen for this perfect person, a person who made me realize it's okay to be different, who loves me for who i am, but that person was a girl.

Sometimes i would sit up at night and think, maybe a miracle could happen and my parents would be okay with me dating leah. But other times reality would hit me and remind me of how religious they were and how they were very old school. They don't agree with half of the things my generation believes in, i usually wouldn't bother in arguing with them about it. I feel like that would be different now.
